Never could have guessed that starting Wolf is a tank move.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

Stenberg tonight only because Nashville is behind them.

The Preds do, however, have 2 less games played.

If they drop back into 32nd, the McKenna titles shall return.

Its not the losing that bothers me so much, its the way they lost and who they lost to.

That steams my hams!!

‘Fewer’ is an unnecessary word. French gets along just fine with moins for both ‘less’ and ‘fewer’. Spanish does the same with menos. Hell, English itself never had this rule about using ‘fewer’ until a grammarian made it up in the 18th century.

I was going to step into the gmae thread, but after watching the gmae back I think that would be a scary place to go.

Fewer is used with countable nouns and less with uncountable nouns.

Also, in French its "moins" for less and "moins de" for fewer. No idea in Spanish.

I'm well aware of that, thank you. I majored in linguistics.

The ‘rule’ that you cannot use ‘less’ with countable nouns was invented about 1770 by a prescriptive grammarian. The English language got along just fine for over a thousand years without any such rule, it's still ignored in conversational English, and the rule does not help formal written English be any clearer or more precise. It's a silly rule.
