I am forever thankful for Lindholm saying no to us, and Kadri could be next.

Funny that this is the only way Kadri will be traded seemingly.

I said it before but Maloney seems like a used car salesman. A very strange person to trot out twice to speak on behalf of the org. I could see the intermission interview, they are on the road and need to fill airtime. But I'm not sure why they let him do the followup. All of their actions scream rebuild to me, but this is definitely a weird one.

I think Maloney fd up his in game interview and for some reason they thought he could fix it. I bet he got yelled at and promised to fix things.

They were wrong. He is just not good at messaging. I have no idea what he's good at. He seems ancient and out of it.

I’ll add that Maloney is being a bit aloof when he claims they haven’t closed the door on Andersson. That ships sailed, long ago.

I’d argue Rasmus himself closed that door a few times this season already lol.

Can we Jettison Maloney into the sun already? He came to this franchise along with Treliving and has long over stayed his tenure IMO. Please just go. This fanbase is ready for and wants a rebuild and honestly speaking the last 3 years, bubble season not withstanding, we’ve been trending downwards, just embrace the tank and then we can get back on track once the new building is live.

Terrible Public Relations. I have no idea what they are doing here. I’ve been involved in a lot of public comms and I’m baffled trying to understand the objectives here.

The two Maloney interviews just reek of a bunch of fragile male egos trying to defend, mansplain, and obfuscate, rather than take any responsibility for where this team is at and present a coherent vision and strategy to fix it.

I can only hope Conroy sees the world for what it is and makes the right moves to set up the team for long term success.

The complete lack of accountability and intransigence in the face of legitimate fan base concerns is extremely disappointing and totally unnecessary. Actually it’s hurtful and insulting.

I always thought they hired him because he was a mentor to Brad. Never really understood how or why he survived Brad leaving. Either way I don’t think there is much they can do to make this team competitive in the next 24-36 months, UFAs won’t sign here, they don’t have enough good young players to significantly change what seems like at least 3 straight years of top 10 picks, so even if in some bizarre world they don’t trade Anderson, Kadri and Coleman during their time in Calgary and let all 3 walk to free agency/retirement, I still think they will be bad for a number of years. They have burnt it to the ground far too much already to actually be competitive. Last year was a borderline miracle.

I doubt that we will hear from Maloney for a very long time. Probably won't hear anything from anyone for a long time. That's ok. Just don't come out and make fans choose between:

A) Why are you so incompetent?
B) Why are you lying to me so blatantly?


The Flames have Conroy - great communicator (maybe an over-sharer, but he is good in interviews). They also have Peter Hanlon - I am sure he would have worded his answers ambiguously enough to at most ruffle a few impatient feathers, but definitely not poor any gasoline on this fire.


Just stay quiet until you are finished concluding whatever business you have to conclude this season. That's a much better approach than the interview with Francis.

Im not sure how anyone can critically evaluate this team and see anything but a middle of the pack team with everything going right.

No number one defencemen.
Bottom pair a revolving door, middle pair solid but unspectacular.
None of the pairing are particularly mobile.

Number one center over 35, while playing great, he is a 1b type center.
Second center also 35+. Never been offensive producer not about to start now.
Frost is playing at bottom six borderline middle six type numbers he has been ok.
4th line center revolving door hope Beecher can solidify the position for a bit.

No superstar on wings but some good steady players but with poor center depth, and a not very mobile defence, not used to full advantage. Goaltending is good but only thing that is.

Can anyone point to a team in history that had two plus 35 centers, no number one defender, and no stars on the wings that anyone took seriously other than flames ownership as a contender?
