We've got floor tickets just back of the circle stage area. Super excited to see him, you're right about the arena setting but for me Bargatze is the best going at the moment. His delivery is flawless.

I do expect this to pick up.. there was literally zero promo before the on sale only 2 hours of organic reach. if LiveNation puts a few thousand dollars behind promo for this it will get to 85%-100% sold out.

Putting 15000+ tickets on sale with 2 hours notice 2 weeks before an event on a Tuesday evening and selling over 50% in the first 12 hours is beyond impressive.

Ya, told a bunch of sales guys and they are all buying. I got 4 for ~$900 second bowl, 3rd row.

Like before he became an anti trans hate spreader in place of a comedy act? I found it hilarious he did like 4 specials in a row just punching that community repeatedly, then finally announced on the 5th special that he was officially done with it, and that it was always okay because he's not punching down at the community because he's black or some stupid tripe like that, then still beat them down that special til the end, making sure he got the final words in, lol.

He was good when he came back from Africa and was spitting amazing comedy with the shine of being gone, randomly. Now he's a rambly, predictable comedian always looking too hard to make some lame point to his audiences.

Kind of happy to see his fame has fallen enough that a previously easily sold out arena tour is now stagnated at a half empty Dome. I remember he was a god to most of comedy friends, including me, but that shine has worn right off for many in my circles.

I think they’ve even reduced capacity already. The back 10 or so rows of the second bowl have no tickets available anymore.

And they’ve turned off resale. That’s a sign of less than expected sales.

I think we’ve finally found equilibrium with prices and demand. He’s simply not a $500 for lower bowls seats and $200 for upper deck levels of fame anymore. Even in conservative Calgary. And there’s even more tickets available I’m Edmonton. Meanwhile Vancouver is maybe 40% sold.

I think the "punching down" at the trans community is a bit overblown. Or at least it shouldn't be the most distasteful thing about him and his comedy. He has a very disproportionate amount of jokes in his arsenal on the topic, but for the majority of them they are just not all that offensive at all. His obsession with trans women is weird, though.

To me, the biggest turn off about Chappelle is the same thing that becomes a turn off regarding all comedians that become "f### you" levels of rich and famous and get too comfortable with that status bump. They become arrogant, self aggrandizing, and lose touch with the 99%. And it reflects in their comedy.

His last special, Dreamer, was basically an hour long masturbation session. All I kept thinking was how delusional he had become and I just wasn't interested in suffering through how high of an opinion he had of himself.

Not to mention he's a Michael Jackson apologist, has flirted with MAGA, thinks Jews control Hollywood, chummed around with Elon Musk, and blocked affordable housing in his community in Ohio. He also relies on and leans far too hard into the "you can't say anything anymore" and "anti-woke" rhetoric. The dude makes you put your phone in a black bag like some kind of demented substitute teacher.

Chappelle's Show is still hilarious.

I’m not gonna lie I still think a lot of his stuff is funny as ####. Even some of his more controversial specials from a few years ago.

But I legitimately dislike him now. And it’s more than the disappointment that I have in other comics like Bill Burr who sold his soul for some Saudi money. Even if the tickets were cheap I’m not sure how much I’d want to see him because I genuinely dislike him.

What are people's thoughts on this?

I dont really like Stand Up in huge stadiums. I really find that I enjoy it more in smaller venues.

I've said the same. Lots of comedians don't like it easier but it's hard to ignore the huge paycheques they're offered to play them.
