Confession - I actually posted the link you cited by accident (and since edited)!
But so awesome that it worked out!
This Haley's (Sweets n Eats) stuff looked delicious as mentioned and glad she got some business as a result. How awesome is that...
These Haleys both know their sweets!
The Haley I know and have ordered from is:
Sweat Treats by Haley - she's doing everything through Instagram at the moment and doing well that way.
Just to be clear on the link to distinguish the two ; ) https://www.instagram.com/sweettreats.by.haley/
She (Flame n Smoke) also recently released a new hot sauce:
(maybe should be official hot sauce brand of Flames faithful ; ) https://www.instagram.com/p/CIy3WGFldzo/
"HONEYED PINEAPPLE JALAPEÑO
"Caramelized honey pineapple with hot jalapeños & a hint of lime infusions will give this hot sauce a delicious sweet but spicy flavour.
It hits the Scoville scale to 8,000-10,000, adding just enough heat to everything but also great to drench your food in if you are feeling wild."
Haha well now I’m addicted to the cinnamon buns, polished off 4 in less than a day. I guess I’ll have to order more. I can only imagine what the brownies are like

So I am going to pump my own tires once in this thread.
I now have my holiday stock available and I have lots to choose from. Please check out my website. If you see something you like or have questions please reach out to me. I offer easy local pick up near westbrook mall and I may be able to drop it off if it works with my schedule.
Thanks for letting me share some photos of my creations. www.comodesigns.ca
I'm going to pump surferguy's tires here as well. I was actually done all my Christmas shopping early this year and didn't really need anything else. But I kept coming back to this discussion and I just liked the spirit of it - local recommendations for cool stuff to support our friends and neighbours through a tough year.
I am fortunate to be in a position to reach a little deeper this year, so I went out shopping again and hit three or four places recommended in this thread. So, some in my circle will receive an extra gift but that wasn't the point - I just hope that my little bit of extra spend helps some of these small business that are fighting to survive.
As for surferguy - I reached out last weekend, he accommodated my late order, and had it ready for me to pick up this morning. Just an all around simple and pleasant transaction. And he makes cool stuff!

It was a pleasure to meet you yesterday and thank you for the opportunity to build something for you. It is gratifying to send pieces off to homes that appreciate them. Hopefully next time we will be able to shake hands.

She did have few extra bottles of (not sure if still remaining)
BLACK TRUFFLE CHILI
"This decadent creamy smooth hot sauce has the earthy nutty notes of black truffle and the spicy tang of hot chili peppers." https://www.instagram.com/p/CKe8aYqhkZf/
"This is my newest creation I call Chocolate stuffed mousse. A bite of chocolate and a delightful airy surprise. Choice of milk chocolate or strawberry. This Valentines Day box is perfect to order for your loved ones.
Bumping this to get some ideas on gifts for Christmas. I have a handful of gift baskets to build, and I want to try and fill them with mostly local stuff. Here are a few local shops that I’ve been using:
Soffrito: These guys sell amazing oils & vinegars, as well as fresh pasta and some Mediterranean goods that are sometimes hard to find locally. https://soffritto.ca/
Nanao Kimono: Great shop for a variety of Japanese home, beauty & gift kind of things. https://nanaokimono.com/
Plant (Inglewood): I freaking love this store. It’s such a beautiful shop, with loads of really great plants for the home, gifting, etc. They also offer terrarium building classes which is a great option for experience type gifts. https://plantshop.ca/
I'll be going to the Farmers Market as well, they have so many great shops/food vendors and at this time of year, they open it up to a lot of local makers who are selling their goods for Christmas.
A couple things I’m trying to source locally are coffee/tea mugs, and a good local photographer that sells yearly calendars. Any suggestions?
