Garrett started his broadcasting career in Calgary with Ed Whalen. We went from Scotty Bowman to Garrett. Talk about a Huberdeau-sized drop off.

I actually like the announce team. I think finding the games boring is more the Huska low event system where he tries to drag the other team into a slog fest.
It is interesting, watching other teams it is often fast paced back and forth action. And watching the Flames is just very uneventful unless we have a lot of break downs defensively. It reminds me somewhat of the system the Wild used to use. Or the trap days back in the day with New Jersey.
I wish they would really open it up.

Those lines confirm that Hunt is the designated pop corn muncher, filling in for Backlund for practice.
I like the idea of putting Zary with Coleman/Backlund to try and get him going.

No? I saw some posts about the games being boring because of the announcing more than the way the Flames play and I disagreed.

I like Zary getting the Honzek spot. Not as much of an offensive opportunity as the Kadri line but might but what he needs to get comfortable with some protection.
I worry it's more a speed lost due to injury than confidence though.

First of all, no one said it was more about the announcing than the play. And second, yes you did drop in a Huska drive-by.

Backlund definitely earned the practice off for throwing such a huge hit last game. I hope Zary keeps his head on a swivel tonight.
I'm happy for Morton, for getting the opportunity. Hopefully he doesn't look out of place.
I don't love Zary on the Backlund line, or Sharangovich playing with Farabee. Both lines have shown zero chemistry this season.
I would've tried:
Huberdeau - Kadri - Frost/Zary
Farabee - Backlund - Coleman
Sharangovich - Zary/Frost - Coronato
Or
Huberdeau - Frost - Sharangovich
Coleman - Backlund - Coronato
Farabee - Kadri - Zary
In an attempt to get Sharangovich and Zary going.

Mario's replacement is one way, but you may have to "relocate" to Germany or Japan.

FFS....even a discussion about the announcers you turn into a rip on the Flames. WTAF?

Yeah I'd flip Zary and Sharangovich.
Sharangovich is good with Backlund and Coleman, much better underlyings than Zary with those two.
Zary actually seems to drag down Backlund but at his best with Kadri historically, put him there.
Over the last 3 seasons:
Zary + Backlund: 48.8% xGF
Zary + Kadri: 51.3% xGF
Sharangovich + Kadri : 46.6% xGF
Sharangovich + Backlund: 56.1% xGF
Still feels like they have those guys on the wrong lines IMO.
