Probably a safe assumption that the FLA teams and VGS are on the list. And with Coleman, DAL. So that only leaves 6 others. Pointless to try and guess, but hard to imagine the DETs of the league are going to make it.
I wonder if NJ is on the list. Seems Coleman liked playing there, and he’s just the kind of forward veteran depth the Devils would be looking for at the deadline.

Still, if you get robbed in a particular city (not exactly in a hig crime area either), you may have negative feelings about the city that outweigh saying "well every city has bad areas".

Good call. That is at least plausible, and probably likely.

Detroit does make alot of sense, for sure it makes alot of sense that they would want him, they clearly need an upgrade in defense and they have the cap space and desire after missing the playoffs for 10 years.

I can see lots of hesitation from Detroit though, it's early in the season, are they willing to sacrifice a first round pick in a deep 2026 year, it was the same issue with the new jersey 1st round pick where new jersey put protection on it, because they just weren't sold on the performance of their own team. And if your not sold on the performance of your team, did you really want to have that carry over to 2027, when that season could be dicey.

I could really see a trade with Detroit, but it would have to be closer to the deadline, with Detroit turning up the heat, and looking like more of a lock in the playoffs.

If this trades happens now, it's more of a polished prospects from Detroit that Calgary would be willing to take a flyer on, but Detroit also willing to trade, which makes you think, well how good is the prospect anyway, if you are willing to trade him.

I can see interest in both teams, but I think this would be wait and see approach, I think Calgary's first choice is a 2026 or 2027 first round pick, which means it's closer to the deadline, and that means that Detroit has to be more solidified in a playoff position for them to take that chance, they are not going to want to lose a top 15 2026 round pick for Andersson, something in the 20-25 is more palatable for them.

But definitely a trade that could happen if the right conditions happen organically

Yzerman is a tough cookie on trade. But if he's wants something bad enough he does go out and get it.

I'd really like to see Danielson in a Flames jersey. May only top out at a #2 C but Id say a Reschny and Danielson combo down the middle is about as good as it could get without getting a MacKinnon or Crosby

Is it simply possible that a team on Rasmus' 6 team no trade list has made a good offer and he's been asked to waive?

That’s a personal decision. Are you Rasmus?

NY and LA have the worst neighborhoods in the US but all the athletes want to go there?

I don't know why anyone would want to go to California.

All I’m saying is that he went through an ugly incident in Detroit, and maybe it could affect what he thinks of it.

Reached out to my Leafs guy, there has been dialogue between BT and CC in regards to both Andersson and Kadri, ask from Conroy is much too high for Tre's liking right now. They don't think anything will get done with the Leafs. No details on what that ask is, just that it's a lot for either guy right now.

So it's at least a 2nd + 3rd!

Andersson is a league worst in +/- over the last year. He is a fine 2nd pairing dman but overrated by some Flames fans. Kadri is good but he's old now and could decline rapidly at any point. Aging players are not worth as much, it's just a fact.

Knies is a young 1st line center with plenty of potential. What are we even arguing here? We are not getting Knies. Would you trade Parekh for Tavares or Carlo? It is the exact same comparison.
The Andersson-Bahl pairing is 3rd best in the league in goals against per 60. Andy's a solid defenceman who had a terrible year last year but has bounced back this season and has been Calgary's best dman.

I looked it up and Zary - Coronato did have one shift 3 on 3. Which is admittedly more than I thought, but it's also a common and fair criticism of Huska. He mostly prefers to go with his veterans in OT, despite a pretty poor record over his tenure. Last year we were 5-14, this year we're 0-3.

He's better at playing the young guys than say D. Sutter, but isn't this lost season the perfect opportunity to play the young guys as much as possible in those key situations?

Seider is averaging 25:20 TOI right now, which is really, really high. Chiarot (LD) is the only vet worth mentioning as Hamonic (I forgot he was still active) is only playing 13:53 per night and only in 9/19 games. Everyone else in the D group is between 20-25 years old.

The Red Wings would benefit greatly from adding Andersson in the near term to be a leader in a group of rookies and help stabilize their season so they can finally return to the playoffs. To that end, it makes sense for them to make a trade sooner than later to gain more benefit in the season.

The price would have to be one of Kasper or Danielson. The Flames do not need a winger or RD and with Kuznetsov looking good thus far in the season I would say that a LD is not a priority either.

So can it go across as a 1:1 or does the Flames need to add? If the Flames need to add, I do not think it is a huge add considering there are other suitors. 3rd round pick? B prospect?
Interesting post. Couple things though; has there actually been interest shown in Anderson from Detroit? It does make sense, I agree with your points but I don’t ever remember hearing/reading anything about it. That’s not to say it doesn’t exist, I just didn’t hear it.

Second point, I think the Flames are very much interested in a LHS D. All sorts of smoke around the Flames and K’Andre Miller, Nick Hague, and Bowen Byram last summer.

I read that as Buffalo colors. Maybe St. Louis?

They weren’t out at the same time, so out of 3.5 minutes 3-3, maybe half that was with Coronato and Zary. I don’t know what other kids he could have played aside from Kerins and he’s not doing that.

I believe there’s a Treliving tax being applied to any player discussions with Toronto.
