They should, but it is the Flames. When have they ever been proactive on any trade?
They won't trade him unless he asks to be traded I would bet.

Best to just not get your hopes up. Kadri and Coleman are going nowhere unfortunately.

Do the names Markstrom and Mangiapane ring any bells?

Yeah they have things if love to have on the flames.

I love Jesse Kiiskinen. 6'1",190lb RW, who put up 44 points in 46 Liiga games last season as a 19 year-old (6 goals and 7 points in 7 WJC games too) on a rather weak team. Little slower this year as a 20 year-old in the Liiga, with 16 points in 22 games. He's feisty, physical, and pacey.

The Flames never traded them. Also never traded Toffoli. So no, they do not mean anything.
And do not respond with some fact like the fact that over 80% of all players that are traded are already playing in the last year of their contract when they are traded and the Flames only have 62.5% of their trades in this proactive rebuild that fit that category because that did not happen either.

He’s the hardest to trade now given he basically has a NMC. My guess is he goes at the deadline

It's a ten team no move, there's lots of possibilities for him. Think he'd look good complimenting any top players on any contending team. Colorado and Boston especially. It's 100% a salary you should retain on as well to get max value from a top team against the cap.

Danielson would be awesome, but id also be very pleased with Kasper if hes out of favor. Kasper+ would be a beautiful scenario for us. Danielson imo is more of a 1 for 1 proposition.

I think it’s not hard to move him, but it’s a 10 team approved trade list. So only those 10 teams don’t require a waiver.

Right thanks, misread that. Regardless though you're right, it wouldn't be hard to move him and get a quality deal. Calgary makes that contract much more desirable if they eat 25% or more of it.

I think he is movable for sure but will be the last because has the most control and the acquiring team would want to be sure they are a playoff lock.

Coleman definitely is a deadline move. My push would be to move Kadri first as he is a unique commodity but also before the market gets flooded with other centres - because that’s coming.

Not even sure how much you have to eat. I think Coleman would be a very attractive player for Pat Verbeek. He currently has Vatrano who is an offence only forward signed to the same term and similar money as Coleman. Coleman is a much better hockey player than Vatrano and is better for what that team actually needs.
I could easily see a Coleman for Vatrano and Solberg trade by eating maybe 15% of the value of the Coleman contract. Maybe eat 50% of the contract and try to get St Louis’s 2027 2nd from him. But given the number of dmen they have, the plethora of forwards that are above Vatrano for top 6 minutes and the window he has with Sennecke being on a ELC and the contracts he is going to have to dole out next year that is a team I would be looking at.

Anaheim is an interesting landing spot and not one that gets a lot of attention.
I’m starting to wonder about the Bruins. They have two first round picks in ‘26 and ‘27. That said, that injury to McAvoy looked brutal last night. In any event, I don’t think Boston is set to willingly enter a rebuild. I definitely could see them using those picks to upgrade now.

Mangiapane was a UFA. Markstrom wanted out. He was pretty upset when the initial deal fell through. Also, they had a logjam in net.

The fact that Conroy got a 2nd rounder for him when he was a UFA and Dallas could only get a 7th for Tanev when he was a UFA is a credit to Conroy and really makes you wonder what Nill was doing in Dallas.

Toffoli requested a trade after the Flames said no to a contract extension. Does that count?
Markstrom wanted out.. after the Flames shopped him.
