Pretty big game in the race for 32nd tonight.

30: Nashville - 18 GP - 14 points
31: St Louis - 16 GP - 13 points
32: Flames - 17 GP - 10 points

Lose tonight and you're 5 points back of the Blues and they have a game in hand, and you're 4 points back of the Preds on even GP.

You'd also fall to 8 games below .500, and Preds would be the only team close to you at 4 games below .500.

Win and the bottom 3 becomes way more congested between the three western conference teams.

Biggest game of the season thus far. Guys need to dig deep and find some way to come away empty handed. It won’t be easy St Louis stinks and Wolf is rested.

The hardest part of this season for me as a life long fan is seeing other hard core fans cheering for losses. Sure it’s frustrating watching the team struggle to score, but knowing that every individual on the team is trying their best spurs me to keep cheering them on. I believe in Conroy’s long term strategy and applaud the professionalism from everyone in the organization, but I just can’t get on the bandwagon of intentional tanking and celebrating defeat. I hope the Flames crush the Blues and we get some positives from the game to build on.

If the Flames pull off a win tonight I have a feeling this place is going to be insufferable.

Go Flames!

Pretty on brand for the entire non Sportsnet "media" this team has. Click-bait garbage by these guys on Twitter. Try having an original thought instead of beating every team tank thought you have into the ground!

LOL, this parallels last year's back to backs in St. Louis. Flames were 5 points up, a split probably kills their momentum early, a sweep ends their season. Instead, the Flames go in, crap the bed and boom St. Louis 1 point back and almost never loses again.

Tonight, I fully expect a 6-1 Flames win.

Let's go Flames ... silence the tank crowd please. It is getting pretty insufferable to hear the same thing every dang day in the GDT, GT, PGT, and any specific quote that could also illicit a comment about the tank. I get it we are bad.

I always cheer for the win, and live my life if we don't.

It looks like Kuznetsov got promoted to the Weegar pairing. What a great opportunity, and it's well deserved. The top 4 becomes a lot more solid if Kuzy develops into a top 4D.

Cheering for wins, silver lining with the losses.

If they win tonight, they certainly make the McKenna sweepstakes more interesting for the next few weeks! People will be screaming for trades!!

Maybe I will hope for losses at the end of the season if there are meaningful losses to be had. Don't see the point right now. Cheer for wins, and losses have a silver lining.

It's a 4 McKenna point game. Win in regulation and they're only 1 point back. Lose in regulation and they're 5.

Personally I'm putting all of my energy into cheering for Vegas losses, and it seems to be working lately. This has become a far more enjoyable thing to cheer for that has an equally positive outcome to the Flames draft position. Likely enough, the Flames will be looking at a top 5 pick anyway, and I see no reason to stress about each and every "lost McKenna point".

Flames wins are fun, and the losses don't sting as much this year either. I can't get myself into a mental position where I think a Flames win stings though. Vegas losses are the most fun, especially this season.

I just don’t get how people can be so naively optimistic. Losing is good for this team long term. Go Blues.
