Tigers bounce back from a tough OT loss last night by beating Kelowna in OT 4-3 tonight. The Rockets tied the game late in regulation with the goalie pulled for an extra attacker, but Dayton Reschny scored the OT winner.

I expected the Tigers to look better, but it was a good game to watch with lots of offense and good goaltending.

Tigers wrap up their BC road trip with a gutsy 3-1 win over the Penticton Vees. Jordan Switzer was outstanding between the pipes for Medicine Hat, between him and Carter Casey, the Tabbies might have the best goaltending duo in the Dub.
10-4-1 after 15 games, that'll do nicely.

I haven't been paying much attention, what would be the reasons for leaving NCAA? I see some chatter in the comments on X. Can't cut it in academically? Competition level is higher or tougher due to age? Will be interesting to see how this levels out over time.

Not sure if this is beginning to creep into hockey but in football one of the effects of the transfer portal is teams are cutting players and replacing with others if their play isn't up to par.
But for hockey it's too early to tell. There is potentially 'the grass isn't always greener' factor for some of the kids, and also the homesick in a foreign country angle which does affect some kids.

I don't know how they are doing it but the Hitmen won their 6th in a row this afternoon. And I don't know about the rest of you but I love seeing Kelowna near the bottom of the standings. I know its still early but they have a lot of work to do before the trade deadline.

I'd love it if they missed the playoffs somehow.

That was a really good game (had playoff-like intensity) between the Oil Kings and Tigers last night. Once they got the clock raised to the rafters, the two teams battled past regulation time and several rounds of a shootout before Edmonton finally prevailed 4-3. Medicine Hat tied the game late with the goalie pulled for an extra attacker with 40 seconds left. Tigers right back at it tonight as they take on the Wheat Kings.

The scout I know has shared that Kelowna is trading for Shane Smith from Lethbridge.

Lethbridge needs to load up on picks. Luckily for them they have one line of veteran forwards producing well. Nothing worse than looking like you'll cruise to a last place finish without having possession of your 1st round pick. Hell, they don't have their 1st, 2nd or 3rd round picks in the 2026 bantam draft.
I'm trying to remember who they traded their 2026 1st rounder to, pretty sure it was Kelowna for Price. Good luck getting that back.

Full trade:
Shane Smith
WHL rights to Vojtech Cihar ('06 FWD)
for
Kayden Longley ('06 FWD)
WHL rights to Grayson Bauer ('10 FWD)
2027 3rd
2026 4th
2026 6th
Conditional 2026 1st
Conditional 2028 4th
I don't know the conditions on those picks.
Seems like quite a haul. Hopefully it fails miserably for the Rockets.

I just noticed Lindstrom is tied for 13th in points on the powerhouse Michigan State team with 1g 1a in 8 games. In contrast, Porter Martone has 11 points in 8 games and is leading the team in scoring.
I hope it works out for him and he's healthy, but he probably should have come back the WHL for another season after missing so much time.

Yeah... Anholt.... I heard what he said and he earned that suspension. It's only hearsay so I won't repeat it but I will say that it is probably nothing that will come back to haunt him in a decade like Bill Peters

Tigers get 3 out of 4 possible points on back-to-back road games, won 4-3 last night in Regina just now lost 6-5 in OT to Brandon. Really bad missed hooking call on Markus Ruck led directly to the Brandon OT winner.

Geez, that's a shame if the Rockets acquired damaged goods, a real shame...
