It's really pathetic when 1 team has almost 10X the payroll of some of the other teams. Even if the MLB made the cap 100 Million, it would still be low enough to shave off 150 million dollars off the yankees payroll....

Octavio Dotel goes to the Braves.

Padres aquire Morgan Ensberg and cash from the Astros for a player to be named later, utility man Rob Mackowiak from the White Sox for a minor league pitcher, and reliver Wilfredo Ledezma and a minor league pitcher for Royce Ring from the Braves.

Ensberg is interesting. I'm not entirely familiar with all the rules re. player movement but if they had waited they could've had him for the league minimum after yes?
