Wow I didn't even realize the league pulled up the booster seat for team destiny again this season.

And they've squandered the gift. Lol!

No, as per usual, the Oilers got it wrong. They aren't team destiny, they're team "density".

they're a bunch of George McFlys.

Those current bubble teams look great!

its even worse than it looks with games played factored...not to mention the fact the Oilers have played ONE top 12 team from last season and stole a win against Montreal

Of course they look gassed, they've already playing over 22 minutes a game.

There's NO way that McDavid isn't (somewhat) regretting that extension. Might go down as one of the stupidest things I've ever seen happen on a contractual standpoint.

24-25 per night so far. They play full powerplays, full OTs, participate in Shootouts.

Might? If he doesn't get another sniff of the Stanley Cup finals in Edmonton, it will be hands down the most bonehead contract ever signed by a generational player.

McDavid is essentially giving a terrible GM his money. He has to because Bowman spend their cap space in a way that makes it impossible for them to get back to the finals again if he doesn't.

Why do the wondertwins absolutely never smile after they score? It's like they're too cool for the rest of the league. I must say, I appreciate watching hockey players that actually look like they are having fun out there sometimes.

I have been thinking about it and I think McDavid is playing 4D chess here. The lowered AAV actually allows him to be traded. Next year when the cap shoots up 9M, pretty much any team can take him if you send any contract back. It will just make things funnier next offseason when McDavid pulls the chute.

If they miss the playoffs this year I think McDavid requests a trade. They will trade their 2027 1st this year to make a run no doubt. They will have no assets at all left to improve the team, McDavid will waive the surrender flag.

Why even play 4D chess? Just walk away to the Leafs or Rangers free agency and get a max contract.

Also, any team that trades for him is probably going to have to give up assets. If your plan was to leave anyway before the contract is up, why make your new team, the one you want to win with, deplete their assets to acquire you.

Because hockey players don't care about draft picks. Plus with a NMC he can force a trade where the team doesn't give up market value.

Ze Germans do not smile! It is contractually obligated!

There ain't enough Popping Corn grown in Alberta to meet the demand if the Oilers missed the playoffs!

Don’t forget, every single second of empty net situations to pad their personal stats. You wouldn’t want to give any of that to the Coilers’ peasants. Only Connor and Leon deserve the gravy. They’re both just so dreamy. Granted, they haven’t had many of those opportunities so far this season because their team sucks balls…
