Based on the first Yamamoto game, it would be one hell of an accomplishment if they are able to close it out tomorrow against him. He was unstoppable last week. If they can get to him early, which is entirely possible the city will explode. I love being the underdog and succeeding beyond expectations. This ride has been so unexpectedly fun.

I think the hope is they will be more effective against him seeing him a 2nd time.
Didn't work for the Dodgers with Yesavage but his split wasn't working in Game 1, so that was new to them, and they didn't know how to deal with it.

Jays had the best record in MLB.
Flames were 12th best.
That ends the comparison

It's going to be interesting watching Yesavage's career unfold. Will hitters figure him out, or will it just be a matter of if he's got his best stuff they're screwed?
Hopefully the latter, because if he can stay healthy they've got a 22 year old ace with poise beyond his years to anchor the rotation for the better part of a decade, if not longer.

Jays were best in the AL, only 3rd best overall (Brewers and Phillies were better)

I don't think Yamamoto is unhittable. The Jays actually made good contact against him in game 2, but couldn't find the gaps. They recorded 10 hard hits on Yamamoto and had an xBA of .255. They were struck out 8 times but only had a 30% whiff rate. For comparison, Yesavage only gave up 3 hard hits last night and had 12 SO's with a 44% whiff rate. The Jays pitching as a whole had 15 SO's, gave up 6 Hard Hits and held the Dodgers to an xBA of .139.
The Jays actually had a lower xBA last night (.234) than they did in game 2 against Yamamoto.
Don't get me wrong, it's going to be tough tonight against Yamamoto, but if they make as much contact as they did in game 2 they'll probably get a few more on the board. Statistically speaking that is.

Key for the Jays tomorrow will be not trying to do too much at the plate, that's when they struggle. Nobody can win the World Series with one swing.
Be patient, work the count, get long at bats, and they will have success.
They did well in the first couple innings against Yamamoto at working long counts, and had some success, but struggled doing that the rest of the game.

Gelinas = Springer dinger when it was needed most.

I wonder what this run by the Jays will do for getting more kids into baseball. I remember after the 92-93 wins youth baseball exploded in Canada, I was 10 in 93 and the Jays were a big factor in why I started playing ball. Hopefully something similar happens here and we get an influx of Canadian talent coming into the show in another 10 years

Just saw a stat that Ohtani, Raleigh and Judge went 0 for 10 with 5 Ks vs Yesavage this post season.
Goddamn...

Crazy that Jays didn't even play in the wild card round. If they don't break this record, we will be a sad bunch.

The Jays have sold out Scotiabank arena for a watch party for game 6. Down TO is going to be absolute electric tomorrow night.

On the surface Springer back is good but I have a concern, I assume this pushes Bichette to second. So now you have two sort of healthy guys in, and one playing field when he shouldn’t be. Hope it works out.

But the odd man out is IKF, who is the weakest link on the roster right now at the plate.
Bichette didn’t start last time we played Yamamoto. So I like this move if Springer is ready to swing.

Bichette's bat is well worth the downgrade on defense, not really debatable
