I don't understand on the powerplay why teams continue to leave him open for the one timer at the right circle which is their bread and butter play. I would have a player mirroring him in the zone the entire time and make them beat you with the 4 on 3.

Hell I would be, he should've held off on signing. To be a guy who's undeniably the best player in the league, won enough individual accolades for a lifetime and will retire considered an all-time great, it's probably demotivating to know your perormance still isn't enough because your team's weak links are still goaltending, depth and defense.

Chiarelli made a lot of mistakes but he signed Draisaitl and McDavid to 8 year deals that ended up being ridiculous value.
That alone makes him number 1 because having those two locked up is the only reason that team was relevant.

Does McDavid rage and demand a trade if they miss this season? He left millions on the table, and they just took that money and gave it to Frederic (lol) and Roslovic (lmao).
I'd be fuming ####ing pissed if I was him, but granted, he's a ####ing moron for signing that deal so hard to say.
