One could argue Piastri after being hit (on the cut back when he turned into hulk), turned into landos car and took him out at the same time as he was taken out,
He went from full lock to full lock in that entire sequence.

That whole deal was all on Piastri.

This is pretty much the worst case scenario for McLaren. They'd be better off with a Lando DNF at this point.
I'm rooting for Oscar, but Max winning the WDC by a few points would be delicious.

14 points back for Lando now. This can be done with Mexico and Brasil on tap. Oscar looks just as lost out there as Lando did during his blip.
It's amazing the RV have somehow managed to get back on top with a few upgrades. McLaren had such a huge performance edge over everyone the last two years and RB scrapped its way back. Although I did find it interesting that Verstappen said post race today the he and Lando were racing identical race pace.
So if Lando managed to take 2nd out of turn 1 today he could have had a stellar duel with Max. Instead we got a pretty good duel with LeClerc today.

I would have been much happier with the race if Lando had gotten past LeClerc early and was able to race Max the entire time.

As Russell lamented we’re back to a race to turn 1 and a procession after that. Especially when it’s a one stopper. There’s no viable strategy offset.
The championship may be close but the races are a battle for qualifying and to turn 1 and from there on out there are virtually no overtakes.
These cars looked so promising until it was killed by the porpoising and the subsequent technical directive killed it.

Making this formula larger was a massive error. In a sport that rewards being inch perfect, it was a step back for the wheel to wheel racing.

Yeah, seeing sims where they put a 2004 Ferrari vs a 2025 Ferrari is eye opening how big these cars are.
