That might have been a pick-6 for the Bills if he caught it. But that's why he's not a receiver and all that.

I meant the fumble. I've been pretty clear about the fun of this time of year, all SB matchups are possible now (Patriots-Panthers II????), Jaxson Dart MVP push begins now, Bills collapse begins etc...so have at it.

So Josh Grizzard will get that job in January or February? I wonder if Baker gets some sort of royalty written into his next deal for the next OC he gets hired as a head coach.

I'd like to say this is the usual Bills mid-October doldrums but I think they are in trouble unless Josh can once again bail them out. He seemed pretty blah last night all around and not sure if he's sick of being Superman or if the play calling and lack of talent on offense is getting to him.

If you look at the rest of the Patriots schedule theres 4 tougher games left and that assumes the week 16 Ravens are more like the team most people expected. So they might be able to win 11 games, more if they get really confident.

As of today of the 4 Division winners in the AFC from last year only the Bills are in a playoff spot. I imagine by the end of week 9 that it's still going to be pretty muddy with a lot of teams still thinking they're still alive.

The NFC, outside of about 4 teams everyone else could be 5-4 or better after 9 games played.

As a Ravens fan, I have no hope for this season. The defense is putrid.

Most interesting thing about the Ravens implosion is the hope it's creating around the league and fans that Harbaugh may get fired. His agent would instantly become the most popular guy in the NFL.

The bad guy is never dead until the movie is over so to speak.

I still think the Ravens could rally and end up with a 10-7 record type of thing as the most difficult part of their schedule should be done now. If they can get a bit healthier here with the bye, and they get Lamar back it's still a very dangerous offence. The defence did show some life against the Rams on Sunday, and should also start getting some bodies back. They might struggle to be a real Superbowl contender this year, but they still have a path with their Division. The Steelers are old, and already had their bye so it's not unreasonable to think they'll fade at the end like they did last year. The Bengals and Browns both have suspect offences...and the Bengals defence is also bad.

There have been teams like the Chiefs and Colts rally from a 1-5 start to end up in the playoffs recently. I actually think the Ravens will do the same here and no one will be excited about having to play Lamar Jackson in a playoff game even if they think their offence can hang 40 on the Ravens.

Good time for the Bills' bye week. Totally agree about it being too early for overreactions...but if in 2 weeks, they come out of the bye and lay an egg in Carolina, then something is officially wrong.

AFC standings are fun right now. What year is it?

This being the darkest timeline, Chiefs will eventually go on another SB run, but it's a nice change of pace for now.

Sam Darnold, Baker Mayfield, Daniel Jones, and Jared Goff all being in the top 10 QBs this year is fun at least - maybe teams will stop blaming the young QBs for bad coaching and poorly constructed teams.

Default UTEP Study Reveals How Financial Pressure Shapes NFL Officiating

https://www.utep.edu/newsfeed/2025/o...ficiating.html

Quote:
The study shows that during the playoffs, which the research team identified as the NFL’s most commercially valuable period, penalties against opposing defenses of the Chiefs’ offense were significantly more likely to result in first downs, cover more yardage and fall into subjective categories such as roughing the passer or pass interference. Importantly, these effects were absent for the Tom Brady–era New England Patriots and other recent Super Bowl contenders, suggesting the phenomenon is unique to Kansas City’s emergence as a television ratings powerhouse.
Timing of this study release is fitting only days before the last Chiefs game vs the Lions where the Chiefs played a perfect game not being penalized once despite social media being rampant with video evidence of several non-calls of holding, etc. The NFL really does love the Chiefs more than any other.

I understand no one is watching these two trash teams but the box score tells me Joseph Flacco and the Trey Hendrickson-less Bungles are taking it to Mr Do Your Research. You hate to see it

I've been watching. DJ Turner made a nice play to steal the ball from D.K Metcalf which was the second pick. Flac-goat has been getting the ball to Chase and the Bengals have had some success running the ball for once.
