Oh I've done the math just fine thank you very much. Not going to waste a bunch of time going over it here just to satisfy someone who clearly wants to be abrasive and confrontational to anyone who disagrees with him.

not at all what I said...you said 3 fluke goals. Zary's goal was a skilled play

No, my friend. If you have really done the math, I am all ears. By all means, share your work. Shame to put the effort in and not help us all understand it.

I’d gladly admire how you are right when you show it. Thanks in advance!

I think so as well.

That said, I don’t think it was a good decision to keep him between the pipes all night. He shouldn’t have been there for the last two goals, especially towards the end of a B2B.

With hindsight might as well have started Cooley. If the backup isn’t playing on a back to back on the road when will they play him?

Thought the offence looked a bit better than in Edmonton but not enough shots, no bounces, and playing against an actual NHL goalie.

When they get a new backup

Hindsight is great. They lost anyways, should’ve started the worse goalie.

Depends on their philosophy

Fact is Vladar faced tough opponents regularly. Wolf got something like 11 of 12 total starts against the 3 bottom teams in each conference and ran the tables

They didn’t shelter Vladar, Wolf got the gimmes, and that was basically the difference in their stats

Cooley has literally no history to suggest that he can help a bubble team be competitive with playoff teams

What do you do?

It's hard to see where the goals are going to come from. Much like last year, Wolf is going to need to put the team on his back to have a chance at playoffs.

I really see this team as a collection of 3rd and 4th liners, minus a few players who are 2nd liners. At forward, I don't see a 1st liner talent wise on the roster currently.

I just don’t see any easy answers anywhere on the ice.

One thing I do know though, is Wolf is one of the best talents we’ve had since Johnny. However, we need to nurture that talent. Playing in such a poor team and being THE guy at this stage of his career is far from ideal.

We beat the Oilers and the non-tank fans come out with comments thatthis team is way too good to be a bottom team. Really? Gridin's goal was pure luck and Coleman's goal was a gift from dumb and dumber.

This team has looked very bad so far. I don't recall skinner making any big saves. Then we lose 5 to 1.

Time will tell, but some people need to take off the rose coloured glasses. After 2 games, this team looks bad. Way too early to decide one way or the other

This season will be the same as last year and the only way they win is strong goaltending and good team defense as they don’t have the offense.

I agree, can they stick around in enough games and can they come from behind a bunch of games again this season.

Also, one other key factor we haven't seen yet, can our backups play well enough to win a game or 2.

Edmonton vastly out played Calagry based on expected goals, but Skinner came to the rescue.

Vancouver/Calagry was actually more of a 50/50 game and Wolf had an off night. He likely should not have started.

We are 1-1 against two decent teams on the road in back to back games to start the season.

Nothing to complain about here. Absolutely nothing.

I don't think its fair to complain about the undeserved Edmonton win and ignore the fact that the 5-1 game was really a toss up, based on advanced stats.

Advanced stats are great, they should not be ignored. But this team should be decent in that department, lack of talent should have them finish a lower percent of the chances and create less of the high danger chances. 5 on 5 and ES they are consistently higher in xGF% vs HDCF%.

When I watch the games, I see a team that has to work so much harder than most teams to create good chances.

Every time Thatcher Demko beats us I wonder what Mason McDonald is up to.

2nd night of a back-to-back, wasn't expecting much.

Nah man. Kadri is a Flames legend, a genuine No.1 centre capable of 90-100 points, Wolf is going to carry us into the playoffs and Coronato and Zary will have 40 goals each.
