I'm not sure they understand what Trent Frederic is.
The next 8 years should clarify that though lol.

Well for all the believers out there, we are going to find out real fast if this team is for real or if last season was a outlier
Very tough schedule to start the year

So pleased to have flames hockey back.
Lets see what DAZN is like as the new supplier for oot fans. I just hope they offer both pbp options and I don't have to listen to the oilers broadcast.

Personally, I think that it is after this first month where we learn how this team is going to be this year.
It's hard to evaluate this team with such a challenging start. Of course, if they go 2-10 then they have a huge hole to climb out of and it would take a really strong rest of the season to get close to the playoffs. If they go 6-6, then is that good or bad given the schedule?

I have them at 6-4-2, but I tend to be fairly optimistic as a fan. I could easily see them going 4-6-2, but is that insurmountable?

Yeah, they don't have to get off to a crazy good start like last year but you can't go like 2-10. Survive the first month and the Flames barely have any back to backs left with strength of schedule looking pretty good too.

Team was top 10 in the NHL from Jan 30th on...top 6 in the last 15 games
With Frost/Farabee and Bahl back from injury the Flames legit had a good record...maybe they were fortunate but it was also during the toughest time of the year to win. This idea that they are a bottom 5, 2 even team is kinda based on nothing. No backup is basically the answer everyone is giving like that is impossible to correct. Flames also have a league low 9 back to backs...8 after tomorrow

I know people want the dream of mckenna but understand just how many worse teams are out there that suck out loud and don't have the goalie or the structure that the flames do.
They won't be bottom 3. Maybe bottom 10. But likely bottom 16-17.
Best shot is the slim chance at the lottery like the isles lucked out on last draft.
Its a long season. You may as well start the year actually cheering for this team to win.

We play in a division with the Ducks, Sharks, Kracken, Kings and Canucks.
We will get 100 points and be in the playoffs this year.

At the very least cheer for the young players who will be part of the team when they are ready to contend to do well.

Big opportunity for Gridin to get the jump on his Calder Trophy rival, Parekh, tonight.
A big night for him probably means a big night for Morgan and Matty.
Let’s go!

TBH the Jays playing tonight takes away some of the fun of it being season opener.
If a Flames loss would guarantee a Jay win tonight I would take that trade off.
If the Jays and Flames both win that would be a perfect evening.
Hopefully the unthinkable doesn't happen and it's a Jays loss and a Flames loss.
