There is nothing edgy about this. You don't like your job, find a new one. Don't expect taxpayers to foot the bill.

I don’t think you understand we oil and gas workers work to make shareholder value for mostly publicaly traded companies where as teachers work to make those workers, they serve the public

So you're fine with teachers quitting en masse? Because if the UCP doesn't get their heads out of their asses then that's what's going to happen, and the kids and parents you seem to care about will suffer far more than from this strike

Bless people who think things that don't directly concern them have a simple fix and it comes down to the people affected being selfish for not just accepting whatever working conditions the government lays on them.
Just don't choose the profession then bruh.

It's the same playbook they've been using to attack healthcare, and sadly it'll probably work

Lol at treating education like its some sort of gratuitous blue ring project.
Tell us you don't have a family without telling us you don't have a family.
That or you homeschooled them online through Trump U.

Think of how big the war room could be if we didn't waste all that taxpayer money on stupid things like education! We could have millions of picker truck operators making billions for the province, nay, COUNTRY of Alberta. Now that's what I call winning. Have you reached out for a cabinet position yet? I believe the O&G workers positive, Teachers negative angle should have you inner circle bound.

And perfectly illustrates that by defunding education, UCP gets what they want.

Oh, so now you care about taxpayers? Great! We finally have one who cares, guys! OK, explain how you could vote for the UCP after throwing $1.5 billion away on a doomed pipeline? That's a lot of taxpayer dollars. Or what about Turkish tylanol? Perhaps the wasted money on the Dynalife debacle? Or how about paying off coal companies to not sue us? That one's just getting started, already $140 million down. Are you concerned at all about the CurruptCare scandal and the billion dollars that could be behind that? Nothing like a good ol' enrichment of supporters with public dollars you are so concerned about.
You are one of the mother####ers who stuck us with this bull####, and now you want to come cry about taxpayer dollars like they are some sacred cow, yet don't give a #### for all the other times they are wasted by the ####ing corrupt morons you put in there? Oh, but the teachers. Who are fighting for the rights of students to be educated in a decent manner. Ya, #### them.
Pathetic man. Fully. Pathetic.

I don't even have a dog in this fight, but that's the single worst take I've seen anywhere on the situation.

Nicolaides, Smith, Horner
And my MLA is NDP as well but I plan on sitting down with her so she has a more thorough understanding of how things have gone when she goes back to legislature in 3 weeks.

I have many friends and family who are teachers. Pretty much all of them admit 'we have it pretty good'. The defined pension is an amazing perk than most white-collar workers don't get anymore. The time off is unheard of in other professions. The salaries are very decent.
I'm not saying the union and teachers shouldn't always be asking for more, because I think all workers should always be asking for more. Power to the proletariat.
But they certainly are not hard done by in my book.

I think that is probably true, but doesn't address the issues that teachers are concerned with. Class size/complexity and the really the foundation of public education are the issues. From my anecdotal evidence, many teachers were ok with the 3-4% increase, but there is so much else wrong with how the government is handling public education. My spouse was one of many that voted to approve the first offer (that was rejected 65/35) to rejecting the latest (rejected 90/10). How the government has handled the negotiation, how it funds private education and just the general handling/mismanaging public services have left them in a position to dig in their heals. I do think this could last a long time...

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.
