They didn’t want them to get more familiar with him
Given the score at the time I think it was the right call
You have to expect your pen to get outs

Also sucks the Yankees haven’t had to use anything other than this one guy in the bullpen.

The only argument would have been let him face Grisham I think, who isn't a bat that you're too worried about him seeing a third time.
Then take him out before Judge/Bellinger.
Might not make a huge difference but going to the pen with 2 outs instead of 1 might have helped out a lot there

It’s also the Yankees who have an abundance of guys who can score with one swing. The jays have been allowing lots and lots of runners and if that continues one swing changes this game.

Yeah. Why go to Bruihl against the top of the order. The playoffs are never low leverage and tomorrow is an off day.
That's not what he's for, and it's not fair to him to ask him to do it, imo.

That game was exhausting haha.
Tough stretch in the middle with the low leverage guys. But there was so much to like about that game.
Need Bieber to go deep in game 3 and protect the pen the best he can. That or have the offense put up another dozen.

Going to New York with two bullets to finish this. Worst case, Gausman (with an extra day rest) and Yesavage (with regular rest) both will be ready for game 5 at home if necessary.
This literally could not be set up any better.
Oh, and Shane Bieber on the mound in game 3.
Lets. effing Go.

The good news is when the arms you are going to use in high leverage situations came in, they shut it down.
No hits off Fluharty, Dominguez, or Varland

Yeah. Not a big concern if Bruihl/Fisher/Nance weren't great - imo you wouldn't expect to see them much anyway. I didn't love Lauer's performance though. Hopefully no game 4 but if there is a game 4 I'd figure on him pitching multiple innings so having him give up 3 hits to 4 batters is no bueno.
