Most likely Nance, Bruihl, or Fluharty.
Better not be Fluharty. He’s shown he’s up for huge moments

Why not leave Yariel off the roster instead of Nance (or Fluharty)? Nance has earned more trust and leaway for me and it would be an outright crime if Fluharty isn't on the roster.
Yariel might have better stuff than Nance, but Nance is much more reliable.

And in an ideal world, Hoffman would be off the playoff roster (he's not trustworthy or reliable enough), but the latter will never happen.

There’s no way Hoffman isn’t included. He’s slipped, but is still one of their best relievers and rebounded in September. I could see a quick adjustment to take him out of 9th inning duties if he falters early in the series though.

I think Lauer, Fluharty and Little (gulp) are enough lefties, I wouldn't include Bruihl.
Gausman
Bieber
Yesavage
Bassit
Scherzer
Lauer
Hoffman
Dominguez
Varland
Rodriguez
Fluharty
Little
Fisher
Nance
Is 14 pitchers which is 1 too many. I'd leave off Scherzer and his 5+ ERA and propensity to give up big HRs. He's a bad fit vs the Yankees. I get that pisses him off, but the next choice imo is Hoffman and he is under contract next year, so it's more important he's happy than Max going forward.
But probably it's Nance (he's got the best ERA of all 14 of them so naturally that's who you leave out).
I'd also go with an opener every game. Rotate Varland and Dominguez. Then bring in Gausman/Bieber/Yesavage/Lauer. I would tell the press that's the plan but not specify the order. Let the yankees guess and pitch Lauer a game where they have their lefties in. They're not going to want to pinch hit in the 2nd/3rd

I agree, I think if it was up to me I'd be leaving Yariel off.
But I don't think the Jays will do that sadly, hope I'm wrong.
Nance has a better K/9 than Yariel, better WHIP, better ERA - but in about half the sample size.
If I had to bet on who its going to be I bet its Bruihl - he's the most recent guy in (other than Trey) and has the smallest sample size. An argument could be made to keep him though as a pure lefty on lefty guy - but that's harder to navigate now with the new rules.

Except that the first inning was Scherzer's worst all year. If anything, Bassett is a guy who could come throw an inning or two to get you through the 5th and 6th inning in a game. He did it once during the season before the all-star break.

I think Bruihl gets dropped for sure, but even without him that list I posted a couple posts up has 14 pitchers on it and you can only keep 13. And often teams will take less pitchers due to the off days so they can pinch hit more.
In fact, all 8 teams in the wildcard round took either 11 or 12 pitchers, nobody took 13.

No surprise, but Gil and Fried announced as the Yankees games 1 and 2 starters.
No word from the Jays yet on game 2

No doubt I'd leave Scherzer off the roster, but I was watching the telecast last night and they had a point that they paid the guy $15M to be there in crunch situations. While that's correct, I just don't think he has it in him anymore. Bet help can come in handy though, but I just can't see him saving anything in any situation aside from a 0-0 game. Coming in to hold a lead or limit damage? Don't think he's that guy.

Yeah I don’t think you can leave Scherzer off. Can rejig the roster after each round?
Big game tomorrow but bigger game Sunday IMO. I think Jays will come out tight tomorrow. I think the bats will be ok but will Gausman last like everyone expects him to?
Questions will also be on how Schenider will exorcise his past playoff blunders. Will he over manage and or go the other way and let things play out?

Yes, you can swap players out between rounds, but not during rounds. Unless there's an injury, but then the injured player replaced is out for that round and the next.
Will be interesting to see if they include Bo on the roster. Its a tough choice if he's not ready now but might be for game 3 or 4.

Pretty ballsy decisions on the roster. No Scherzer, Berrios, Bassitt. I’m stunned that one of Berrios/Bassett were not on for longer relief.

Probably all the right choices. Bichette and Bassit are still recovering from injury and Scherzer is cooked. Like when the Jays left Buerhle off the 2015 roster.

The right choice but I am stunned they had the balls to make it.

This gives the Jays a ton of flexibility now with 4 lefties in the pen.
Though, Lauer likely is earmarked now for a start (or piggyback start with Varland) with Bassit and Sherzer out.
Still, 3 lefties in the pen is nice to have
