Loved the gameplay in Shadows, best-looking open world game I've ever played. And Naoe finally supplanted Unity's Arno as the smoothest-moving assassin in the series. Was not a fan of the non-linear storyline though. It killed the flow, making it quite forgettable.

Yeah, Naoe was a good character. I enjoyed large parts of Shadows, but yeah...largely, Ubisoft seemed to go out of their way to impede that games success with sloppy story telling.
Should have been focused on her. Should have spent more time fleshing out her story. That was the heart of the game. Splitting it off with dual protagonists did the story a disservice.
Enjoyed Shadows a good deal...but it has left me a bit tired on the open world structure, so Yotei is something I'll put off into next year before jumping back into a game like that. I want to give Yotei some time to breathe. I did the same with Tsushima, I bought it at launch but didn't get to it for a few months. I'll pick up Yotei in the winter or early spring, maybe even save $10 or something.
