This is another reason why a 6 seed has a chance in a short series. Skubal is the best pitcher in the series, so if he has a good day, the Tigers now have a big advantage. Come the next series when they likely are limited to 1 out of 5 games it has a lesser impact on the series.

Annoyingly the way the schedule lines up, he’ll be able to pitch twice in the ALDS (so will Crochet or Fried against us)
Game 2 is Sunday for ALDS both series, which is regular rest for these guys pitching today.
Then a possible game 5 is the following Friday for both series, which is regular rest.
Gotta hope it doesn’t go 5, especially if we face Boston

And you gotta hope that if we face the Tigers in the ALCS that their DS goes 5 and he pitches gm 5. Because then you see him game 3 in the CS and not again until game 7 (hopefully not necessary).

Now he gets pulled. Could that be a critical mistake for Detroit?

Cade Smith getting himself into trouble...
Hits Torkelson then walks Greene.

He had 107 pitches. He likely didn't have much left. Turning it over to Vest for a 4 out save opportunity has typically been a good day for the Tigers this season (September collapse excluded)

Smith fans McKinstry. Gets out of his mess.
Indians Guardians still with half a chance.
Edit: make that a GREAT chance now. Baez with a great diving stop but throws the ball away so Ramirez all the way to 3rd base.

What a choke by Cleveland to not get that run in. Likely a season ender there.

They are simply in the spot they are in for the exact opposite of random stuff like that happening to the other team of which they were the beneficiary of all season.

When the Reds win the World Series the cries for change will be out of this world.

Highlight of today's broadcasts so far was the commercial after Mason Miller struck out three on 13 pitches (5 whiffs) in the seventh.
"It's Miller Time!"

Quite the pitching matchup between the Red Sox and Yanks. Put $0.50 down on the Sox the second Fried came out. Bostons bullpen is better.

Hopefully the Yankees tie it up and they need to play like 13 more innings.

Chapman being almost perfect all year and then ####ting himself against his former team, script is predictable.

Playoff Chapman is messy. Dudes hitless steak this season was such BS. Barely got the save tonight.
Funny to see the Yanks completely silenced by good pitching. Funny how that happens when you don't face the bottom feeders for 12 straight games.
This result is looking very good for the Jays. These teams are both very beatable.
