The Abyss was always my favorite of his. Just a very cool and unique sci fi film.

I need to rewatch that. I remember loving it as a kid, but only remember a few of the effects.

I enjoyed Greenland too.
Moonfall is another recent, absolutely ridiculous disaster movie that's worth watching.

Look, I know money isn't everything... but if we stopped the clock tomorrow, he'd have 3 out of the top 4 highest grossing movies of all time (2 of which being Avatar movies).
And I get it, Avatar isn't everybody's cup of tea, but let's not talk like his career has turned into some sort of shame. If he dies with 5 of these things on his IMDB list, I'm not sure his reputation will be all that tarnished.

The director’s cut is the way to go if you’re gonna rewatch it. It’s so good.

The Russo brothers are the third highest grossing of directors of all time.
Yet I don’t think anyone will remember them by name in 20 years.

If you're like most of us, that's what you say when you mean you're 20 seasons behind.

It'll be 20 years between movies when this comes out in 2027. One last hurrah for the cast? I haven't watched an episode recently but I've read that they sound rough.

Problem is after the first one, the franchise wasn't anything special, considering how visual fx in general caught up and in ways surpassed it since 2009.
Which is what set it apart initially, because the writing and acting was nothing to write home about.
Meanwhile he could have been making more truly special and memorable projects unique to their own, instead of wringing more out of a universe people were already familiar and a little bored with.
There isn't enough distinguishing these sequels either looking at the trailers for this next one. I bet that in 10 years people will look back and have a hard time remembering which was which.
But personally speaking, I'm just tired of looking at slender blue people with fangs hissing at each other. It weirds me out.
Please do something else, Jim.

Or just retire, it's fine. It might be time to hang it up.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.
