Time for my regular complaint about smart jeopardy people being bad betters
Dude gets a late daily double and bets 10K. That's enough to barely move him into the lead, by a couple hundred dollars but more than enough to take him out of contention if he gets it wrong. So he gets all the downside and not enough of the upside. Instead if he was going to bet big, which is the right play, bet big enough that you assure yourself of entering final with the lead. He gets it right and moves into the lead...barely. And sure enough loses the lead by $200 on the final question of double.
But then in final the leader, gets the question right, but only bets $150. So the original dummy wins anyways.
Just bad betting across the board.
