I only booted up Silksong on Gamepass just to see it and I think the diagonal download slash / pogoing would be really difficult for me to do. Like I already feel like I'm often at the limits of what I could ever do in Hollow Knight and adding diagonal pogoing even just for the bit I tried it felt more like an order of magnitude harder rather than just a bit harder.

Though I did read that there is an upgrade/whatever path that you can sacrifice some reach for a downward slash/pogo.

Borderlands 4.. huge time waster! Takes a big ass computer right now to make it work ok... even then have to rely on dlss and framegen lol but I'm getting 100 frames at 1440p, so can't really complain

It’s definitely weird at first but you absolutely get used to it. Correct on upgrade and I find myself missing the diagonal slash now haha

Anno 117 and Transport Fever 3 all being released in the next in the next 6 months is a boon for supply-management simps like myself.

Full release now for Deep Rock Galactic Survivor. Quite a while in the making, got more than enough hours into it and they just added more stuff.

I went ahead and pre-ordered Final Fantasy Tactics for the Switch, I played the heck out of that game on the PS1. Looking forward to the refresh and tweaks.

I loved Vampire Survivors and loved Army of Ruin even more. Glad this game came out and scratches that itch. Played a few rounds last night and it's now festering in my head. Fun game!

This is quite a read about the wonky performance from Borderlands.

"The minimum and recommended specs are published. The most common hardware is a four year old cell phone. Borderlands 4 is a premium game made for premium gamers. Just as Borderlands 4 cannot run on a PlayStation 4, it cannot be expected to run on too-old PC hardware. Unlike on PlayStation and Xbox, we cannot prevent a PC player with sub optimal hardware for the game try to play it. So some try and get mad. And some have actual issues we need to fix. And some need to learn how their PC’s work at the high end for this specific game in 2025 and use the tools available to them to find the right balance between frame rate, resolution, and graphics features. This is not a game made to run on 10 year old PC’s - this game uses the full capabilities of modern bus, CPU, and GPU. If you’re trying to drive a monster truck with a leaf blower’s motor, you’re going to be disappointed. If you discover your system can’t run the game well by accident or wishful thinking and/or don’t want to try to mess with settings to make things good enough for you, please use the refund feature on Steam rather than have a subpar experience."

Lol yeah that's a pretty bad look for the guy. I'm sure they'll improve things despite what he says.

Hm also a new Dying Light game out, doesn't seem to do anything new but will probably I enjoy the formula so will eventually give it a shot.

"Borderlands 4 is a premium game made for premium gamers" is such a cringeworthy sentence. Can't believe he posted that.

Haven't had a new game grab me in many years. Finished the MGS Snake Eater remake and went back to Red Dead Redemption 2

I'm still playing through the Fire Emblem games and just finished Radiant Dawn. The 3DS games are next.

I've also started playing Rebelstar: Tactical Command on Gameboy Advance. It's made by the same guy who created the original XCom and has the same feel.

The only "modern" game I've been playing is RimWorld. The new DLC with gravships is pretty cool.

He also made a Ghost Recon game on the 3DS if I recall correctly. It's been a while . . .

I don't know if this is out there, but I met someone who works for EA Sports, and he said they're working on a new hockey game. He didn't go into much detail but did say it'll have multi-season leagues. He said the NHL-franchise team is small, and it's on an older platform and it doesn't get much funding compared to the FIFA franchise. Thought that was interesting.

Interesting... the current head was (I believe) part of NHL Hitz, so I wonder if they're creating a similar type thing? Maybe this would basically be Fortnite, but hockey.

As for 26, I absolutely love it, however (and it's a big "however), I really liked 25 and I only play franchise. If you fall into those categories, give it a shot. If not, stay away because it's just a tightened-up 25.
