Hoffman’s outing should be a good lesson to the Jays pitching staff. Fastballs up are extremely hard to hit. They tend to overuse breaking balls as the out pitch but it tends to lead to a lot of control issues. A fastball up in the zone is extremely tempting for a hitter while being so hard to get good contact on. Just look at our lineup and how many guys struggle against fastballs up…

That's about 3500 more than there would have been in "The Trop".
If they ever build a new stadium in Tampa...I hope they build a giant freaking dump that is the worst of every other ballpark in a single place. Would suit that place.

Beating Tampa Bay in Tampa...
Is it...is it finally okay...to believe?

Last time I felt confident about the Jays in Tampa was 2016. I am pretty sure they still had a losing record there, but I was confident.

TOR @ TBR Models are now very on board with storms across the Tampa Bay area this afternoon. My best guess is a late start and play, but trying to pinpoint these kinds of storms is basically useless. We'll just need to see how radar looks pregame.

Have to wonder how much the long gap hurt Gausman to start there.

Not sure why that was an easy strike call

Just general over-all frustration with the crew.

Just seen the sportsnet clip of the ump leaving the game (missed the beginning of the game). Did they say why he left? Seems like he got the sudden poops from the clip. Could be wrong but we've all been there (when you gotta go, you gotta go).

Not going to win many games when you only get 4 hits.
Just brutal baseball to watch. The Rays truly are a plague on the sport.

What a feeble top of the ninth from the Jays.

Look like they had it with the 2nd and 3rd baserunners. Too bad. These games happen over a long season.

Day game tomorrow. 16 hours away from not having to watch a game in Tampa for a year.

Yeah, lol. When the rest of us got it we don't have an audience of half a million watching. But from that clip he suddenly had to leave without even explaining it to his colleagues. The real ones recognize the urgency of the situation.
