That or how the kickoff got there or where it was placed. If he's two yards in the endzone and pinned to the sideline with the coverage on him to the point you can only get to like the 3...you run more risk of giving up a safety on first or second down and having to kick the ball back with too much time on the clock. If you can get to the 10 and get the clock under 2 minutes you run it out.

Or maybe don't have a kicker with such a puny leg. Santos may be accurate, but in 2025 if your kicker is capped at like 52 yarders and can't kick it out of the end zone you should probably look for a new kicker.

Innocent until proven guilty but given his track record I wouldn't want this guy on my team. The Chiefs offense has never been the same without Hill's big play potential and this news probably makes Andy want him even more.

It's like a broken record. They do have some legit injury prone players but some of this has to come down to strength and conditioning as well as how they run training camp vs other teams. Also they still have the same strength & conditioning coach going back to 2017. Not only that, they recently promoted him to vice president of player health and performance. He may be doing a fine job (49ers seem to think so) and the injuries aren't solely on him but ff I was running the team I would have hired someone different if only to see if a different approach could yield better results as the status quo isn't working. Some blame Shanahan for how he runs training camp. Certainly bad luck is involved but when it happens year after year after year I think you need to employ a "leave no stone unturned approach" because there's something they are doing that's leading them to be more injury riddled than the rest of the league.

To go back to Eckeler, the guy was already banged up on a short week, and he's still being used late in the 4th quarter of a game that the Commanders had barely any chance to win. Now it's likley his career is done. That really sucks for him as I think he's been a guy who always gave a solid effort and seems to be a decent dude. I mean his playing days were winding down, but he could still contribute in some way. Sometimes coaches are too focused on pulling off that miracle in the battle as opposed to playing the longer game.
