- 25-13-3 record with Kirill Kaprizov in the line up last season.
- 20-17-4 without Kirill Kaprizov in the lineup.

This is gonna be nice and awkward to start the season between Wild fans and Kaprizov. Like a fart in church.
On the other hand, Minnesota is gonna CLEAN UP in any trade if they deal him at or leading up to the trade deadline. They have one chance to get this right.

Both teams will be able to fit him in. Rangers seem like the preferred destination for a lot of Russian players.

Yup. They really seem to want to play there. Maybe it's their idea of what the US is all about form growing up (as opposed to landing in Minnie or Winnipeg or Philly and saying - "this is just like Russia FFS").

Yeah, like unless the Oilers haven't already offered McDavid a max term extension, I am guessing the Kaprizov offer is the 2nd most lucrative deal offered in history and we just haven't heard about the other one in detail.

I know I'm old man yelling at cloud, but I remember when good players were shouldered with the agency and responsibility to make the team a winner. The new narrative is 'oh he's awesome but he can't win here so he should go somewhere he can win'

Both him and Panarin linked to Chicago, I'd bet on the Hawks

NY area has the largest Russian population, about 600,000 spread out over the TriState area. LA has the next most and they are concentrated in a smaller area. The third largest is Philly and I think he wants to go play with Michkov (hopefully) or to Montreal to play with Demidov

Not sure if you're serious. 105+ point players don't exactly grow on trees. He put up 9 points in 6 games in the playoffs this year as well. He is the engine that drives Minny's offense. I guess, he's the same level of non-impact player as Ovi was when WSH couldn't get out of the 1st round. And I would love to have that type of player on the Flames.
As for not taking the money, that seems like a mistake, but maybe he and his agent have other priorities, or know something we don't.

*Highest contract in Flames history
Kaprizov coming back last season literally killed out playoffs.
Walked into his first game back against us and just took control of the entire game. 3 points if i remember correctly

No, but they made a point of saying ”we met his asking price”.

Why would you say this? Because he wants to test free agency? Wtf is wrong with you?

Yes, whether he’s won a cup or not, or even a round, he’s clearly their franchise player and would be on most teams.
Iggy went past round one in one year when he was here. He was an impact player, and easily worth what was then one of the highest salaries in the league.

Agreed, but Iginla was an absolute beast and nobody has matched what he could bring since.
