Actually, without the beach and ocean, its just like Winnipeg, not Hawaii.

Fixed for you. Winnipeg has a beach- rated one of the top 10 in the world by Playboy Magazine.

Yes, I've been to Winnipeg Beach. The rest of the city is just cramped concrete jungle, however.

They said in that emergency update that there is rotation and the storm is moving 50 km/h but it shouldn't effect Calgary.

Damn, I was lured out to my deck by some bright lights, sat out there for a loooong time, and this was the only one I caught... and it wasn't even anything. Oh well... relaxing time anyway.

We have some friends who live on a farm outside rosebud and apparently all the windows are smashed in and crops and furniture pretty much a write off.

Yeah I bet, that first storm that went through there was brutal and the second one was a nasty one too. Nice to see Environment Canada not doing their jobs and updating the watches to warnings around there and out east. Unbelievable. The storm through that way now looks like it might have rotation in it too and they havent updated since 9:15pm.
EDIT: Actually at 11:22pm all the watches were dropped. That is just brutal. Unacceptable really. The storm around Oyen looks like its dropping 200mm/hr right now.

i like how the weather network expected no more than trace rain from tuesday to wednesday
i swear they're wrong more than they're right (or maybe they are right for north calgary but for south calgary and okotoks/area they're absolutely useless)

Well, first of all I was talking about Grand Beach; which makes Winnipeg Beach look like Sicome.
Secondly, are you kidding me Eddie? Everybody is talking about how this weather reminds them of Winnipeg; because Winnipeg gets summer. So from mid May to mid September you have weather where you can hit the beach.

Heh, my bad on the beach. I've been to Grand Beach as well, but not for a very, very long time. Probably at least 20 years.
And, give me a Calgary summer over a Winnipeg summer any day. At least in Calgary, you can typically go outside without feeling gross.
