The camera work has been really shoddy this series. Lots of wrong camera choices.

It’s a bit weird having two teams wearing light blue jerseys.

Ugh. That'll do it for this one. They just can't seem to pounce on these weaker teams.

No Barger, Kirk, or Vlad. Definitely fielding the C team.

It’s more like when they face top starters their bats are neutered.

But that’s why they’re top starters I suppose.

One more “easy” series against Twins and then they are in the thick of it rest of way. Only “easier” teams are O’s and Rays who seem to always give us trouble.

CroCop is giddily getting ready to write their usual post loss rant.

Any room on the bandwagon for a Cleveland fan? We're toast so I figure I'll root for the Jays since they are basically Guardians North now.

When the broadcast said this pitcher hasn't appeared yet this series I figured he must not be very good then...

Varsho!!!

Dudes power stroke has been incredible.

I'm so beaten into teams of old that I forgot how God damn resilient this team is.

Yankees up so far. Could be a pretty damn perfect OOT with the Jays loss today.

Yes Jays would like a Yanks win and keep the Sox back.

Need to take care of the Twins properly as there is then the World Series preview that MLB least wants to see for ratings, Jays and Brewers.

Hopefully the bullpen can sort itself out between now and the post season. Since the deadline they have a 4.54 ERA (10th in the AL), and a 5.97 BB/9 (last in the AL), the next worst team in the AL is Detroit with a 4.64 BB/9.

I think they need to eliminate some pitches from Varland's arsenal, make him a fastball/curveball guy, get rid of the changeup and slider. The knuckle curve is his best pitch. I would like to see his sinker a bit more, his 4 seam is just too straight and there isn't a lot of deception in his delivery, so if MLB hitters see that 4 seam enough in an AB they are going to time it up. I would also use the 4 seam up in the zone more.

If they can get that sorted, this team is going to do some damage down the stretch and into the post season.

Varland's stat page is that of an elite reliever. Twins fans were livid he got traded. He was apparently being groomed for the closer role before unceremoniously being shipped off.

I don't actually think he's as bad as he has looked in a Jays uniform and I do wonder if being traded by his hometown team is weighing on him. But his time with the Jays, albeit short, has been nothing short of awful.

I think there's some type of Jim Acker ghost who haunts the Jays bullpen. He terrified Brad Hand...took over Chad Green and seems to have moved onto Varland. I mean it's was a retired player spirit before...now it's full on ghost.

Jim Acker. Yuck.
The only thing worse than his pitching was his beard.

Yeah, hopefully they can get that figured out, because you'd think a guy with his stat line and a 98 mph fastball shouldn't immediately suck.
