I have a lot of sympathy watching these guys go through their own midlife crises. I can relate as they cut off the head of their alternate old-man self in order to feel rejuvenated.

I try never to focus on the personal lives of artists when I hear their music. It's really hard when you listen to someone like Amy Winehouse, or...Karen Carpenter.
There's such a beautiful melancholy to her voice, even in uplifting moments like the chorus of this song, she still has such weight and depth to her delivery. There's a pure emotional quality to her that is so rarely seen. She was truly amazing.

Dirty Projectors, which is pretty much Dave Longstreth (AKA Dave Streith), is an amazing talent. A pretty unique artist and band if ever there was one.

It's weird to think of a song with such heavy autotuning as being a soulful song, but here we are. One of my favorite songs by Bon Iver. Sam Smith has said that this is one of his favorite songs for the vocals alone. Surreal.
