From the fan experience, the only thing missing is more bathrooms. Alas, it's time for the fat cat owners to get even fatter and so they will demo our beloved cathedral of perpetual disappointment and then force us to pay more for a sterile and inauthentic experience.
When we start paying $22 for a can of Coors Light we’ll truly know we’ve made it.

It's so unique and you just gotta buy tickets in the good areas.

I'll be as nostalgic for the dome as the next guy (iconic part of the skyline), but the actual building sucks in many ways. Bathrooms, ridiculous lines crossing the concourse which then run into other lines so there is no flow, not an escalator to be found anywhere, very few bars/restaurants, etc., etc.

I am hopeful that having more than 1 concourse will make for a great improvement. I am hopeful that the seating bowls are as advertised and will be steep and create an intimidating environment. The rest? It will be up to the season ticket holders in most respects. I get it will be more expensive and possibly price some out of the market, but that is already the case with the dome.

Two of the best ballparks in baseball are also two of the oldest with narrow concourses and very dated amenities.

But they have character, soul, and a fantastic fan experience.

I have a lot of fond memories of the Saddledome, but it’s not exactly Fenway Park.

How exactly is the dome a fantastic fan experience? I don't see much of a soul there. Or at least nothing that can't be replicated in the new barn.

Will they be selling or auctioning off the seats?

Would you want them? I don't know what would likely be filthier, a seat from the Saddledome or one of those Olympic Plaza bricks.

You don’t “see” a soul. Maybe charm is an easier word to conceptualize?

I don’t know if the Dome is a fantastic experience or not. That’s subjective. But people do take it for granted. It’s fantastic to me, but I’m also not 60 and needing to piss every 30 minutes. I’ve been to some old and some new and there is definitely something special about older spots with some history.

No, it’s not Fenway. It’s also not Roger’s Place. It’s the Saddledome and it’s the only one there is. Maybe it carries the same design as a few other places around the world, but that’s not what makes it unique.

Everything will probably be recreated in the new barn. Maybe. In 20-30 years. If we’re lucky.

Ya Fenway is a dump. Dome is still serviceable.

Everyone I know with corporate tickets is excited. Everyone I know who pays for their own tickets is dreading it.

Dreading the higher costs, sure - some people are going to feel that way.

Not trying to be calous, but those who don't want to pay will be replaced by new people who do.

Is Scotia Place not the least remarkable name imaginable?

Pretty much anything other than "place" would make the name more memorable. You could even call it something stupid like Box, Summit, Bowline, Point, Hall, Crest, practically anything.

Even from a marketing standpoint, you'd think Scotia Bank and/or the Flames would want a name that doesn't completely go in one ear and out the other. The Flames are going from one of the most unique names to the absolute least unique.
It's copying Toronto with Scotia, and copying Edmonton with Place. I do not enjoy copying Toronto and Edmonton, nor do I enjoy associating with them.
