Never got the apologists who continued to support him.
I have no issue with a player exercising their rights. He was up front with the Flames and worked with them, to some degree, to allow them to get a decent return. Nothing wrong with that. It's his life, and if his decision was he wanted to play somewhere like Florida, I have no issue with him.

And I say that as someone who was never a massive fan of his. I think he's a bit of a goof. And make no question, he's out of himself and thinks players should maximize their earnings, even at the expense of their teams. The apple doesn't far from the tree. But I have no issue with any of that.

I take issue with players who mislead their teams and aren't honest about their intentions. Like Tom Erixon and Arthur Fox.

Don't be dense. How many GM's are dumb enough bridge your future star with a massive QA at the end designed for a walk to UFA?

How do you feel about how Johnny Gaudreau handled his contract negotiations with the Flames?

Bobby Orr is a MAGA isn't he? Surprised he's not on that list.

The Bettman appointment is a bit perplexing in that he’s expected to step down as commissioner in the near future and whomever is his successor may not want to play the same role representing the league.

As for Wayne Gretzky, he’s clearly chosen Team MAGA and a man who would annex Canada to steal its resources wealth. He should not be near a maple leaf of any kind going forward.

Gretzky should just stick to being the Barney Gumble of Mar-A-Lago.

He moved away from Canada 36 years ago and hasn't lived here since. He's made it quite clear that he much prefers living in the USA. I think it is creepy how Canadians seem to adore him when he wants nothing to do with you people.

He may do as he wishes. I do not think he should represent Canada if that’s the case.

I think it's weird how you seem to hate Canadians.

The main thing I don't think he handled well is he outlined the deal he would sign, and when the Flames met that ask, he then backed out.
But a deal isn't a deal until it's done I guess.
I don't think he misled them at any point. I think he really didn't know what he wanted to do until then end, and then felt he could get a deal with one of his preferred teams, including to be closer to his family.
And then that didn't happen and he panicked and took the deal he could get with CBJ, after first circling back to the Flames and learning there was no interest on their end, including because of how pissed of Edwards was.

Lots of miss-steps on all sides. But I also don't think anyone deliberately misled anyone along the way.

Will Chuckles confess to the orange MAGAt how many times he’s been suspended or fined for trying to injure another player? Gross. They deserve each other.

I’m just glad Chucky isn’t a Flame while being part of that committee. Thanks for your time, thanks for beating the Oilers, but at this point I want nothing to do with a MAGA creep.

Appointed. Or who knows, maybe he paid for the honour.

As a naturalized American he might want to be cognizant of the plight of other naturalized citizens being sent to concentration camps. Or does ICE visit gated communities?
