Bouzas Maneiro broke to start set 2, but Victoria got the break back a couple of games later. Back on serve in set 2.
Edit: Another break and consolidation by Victoria and she is one game away from the semi-finals up 2-5 in set 2.

This is a coming out party for Mboko.
Without getting too far ahead of things.... Ha I guess I'll just say nothing.

Left for a quick trip to superstore at 2-1 in the final set, come back and the match was done.

If Victoria were to go on to win the tourney (still a longshot, I know), she would be seeded at the US Open. As it stands, live rankings has her at #48

Clara Tauson knocking off the 2025 Wimbledon champ and then the 2025 Aussie Open champ (both in straight sets) is some pretty impressive play.

Step 1 is Victoria needs to hold serve. Hopefully, that starts with the first game of set 2 after getting breadsticked by Rybakina.

Would have been very easy, at any number of points during that 2nd set, to gracefully let the match slip away and be very happy with everything accomplished this week.
Not Vicki

That was a nasty spill that Victoria just took, but she looks to be okay. Looking at her hand however.

MTO for Victoria to get her right wrist examined. Hopefully, she can power through this with the adrenaline helping her out.

Oh man, what a lucky mi#### return for the break just now by Rybakina. No way she meant to do that.
Edit: mis-hit doesn't pass the swear filter lol
