Dog Days of Summer Thread - Flames Predictions
Help me get through August with not much hockey talk!
Interested in what you guys predict for a variety of topics?
1. Will flames make the playoffs?
2. Which ones of our #2-#20 CP prospects will play 20+ games this year?
3. Which prospect will surprise out of camp this year and start with the team (a la Honzek last year) (besides Parekh)
4. Who will lead the Flames in goals, and how many will they score?
5. Who will lead the Flames in assists, and how many will they get?
6. Who will be traded before Game 1 of the year (besides Andersson)
7. How many games will Wolf play, Prosvetov, and Cooley play?
8. How many points will Huberdeau get?
9. Who will be a dud this year?
10. Will flames draft top 10?
11. Who will score the most PP points this year?
12. Who will our top 4 centers be on game 1?
13. Will the flames score more goals or less than last year?
14. Which prospect will surprise us most in the AHL?

Kerins because of injuries OR Backlund trade (*if it happens*)

Always and will be Bean. If we want a consistent playing player answer, sadly I’d say Farabee

I think if the Flames make the playoffs it is basically going to come down to how the young guys play. Can Wolf, Coronato, Zary, Parekh take some big steps? Can Bahl, Frost, Farabee, Sharangovich all play at or above their cap hits?
Obviously there cannot be a massive fall off from Kadri, Weegar, Huberdeau. I think Coleman and Backlund could regress in points but their roles will still be important.

That’s what I think, we might miss because of regression of some of the vets but that the young guys really start to shine.
