Stockselius being a second round pick probably fits in with that group too - but I think we just have less data / knowledge of him.

The combination of size and skill certainly makes him VERY interesting and unique from what else Calgary has in the pipeline.

I took a good look at him as the size is there and hockey IQ, but supposedly he's not overly physical and his upside appears to be middle 6. Don't want to sleep on him but as of right now he seems like more of a mystery box than some of the other prospects.

It's not often we are at round 10 and it still feels like there are options that have real NHL potential.

None if the goalies have even been mentioned and i think we have some good ones. Also barely mentioned stromgren and king. I will actually be putting king as the recipient of this years josh jooris award.

That is what makes him an intriguing prospect. He probably lands some where in the teens. I think he will be one of the more interesting prospects to follow in his D+1 year.

Next batch for me are Battalgia, Suniev, then Misa
Stockselius, admittedly, I haven't done my homework on
edit: Crap, I thought Kerins already went. He slots in there as well

My bad memories of our prospects was going to dev camps and seeing the only guy with any skill being Eric Nystrom (who wasn't that particularly skilled but was the best guy on the ice BY FAR).
And then you had guys like Matt Schneider, who was a tall kid. I remember thinking he could barely skate. At all.
On the flip I remember seeing TJ Brodie for the first time and thinking we had a player there. I was also more impressed with Richie Regehr than Mark Giordano. So what do I know.

heck I remember Fred Wikner catching my eye one time, turns out not because Fred Wikner was good, but the competition was no good!

He was on par with Giordano IMO back when they were both prospects. I still maintain that Ri.Regehr could have been a really good NHLer if not for the concussions.

The Flames had Gio, Richie Regehr and Dennis Wideman all as free agent invitees in 2004 training camp. Pretty good job by Darryl and the scouts to find 3 free agents like that

Morin is giving me the same vibes that Brodie did. You just get that feeling that he belongs.

Pretty impressive prospect depth when you have a player who was over .5g/gp and over 1pt/gp in his sophmore season in a good NCAA division and hes not even going to be in the top 10.

I posted this earlier in the summer but I am pretty optimistic about Kerins:
He's an interesting player in that he has historically taken some time to adjust to a level and once he figures it out he emerged as a star player. In junior he finished his draft +2 season second in the OHL with 118 points (his D+1 season was wiped out by COVID).
He was sent down to the ECHL and scored at near a point per game pace. Then he stuck in the AHL in 2023-24 and went 16G-16A in 54 games before leading the team in scoring last year with 33G-28A in 63 GP.
To me, Kerins is a legit prospect. The skating issue is overblown in my opinion. It gets repeated over and over but it hasn't proven to be much of a defect at any other level. I'm very curious to see where it is at after this summer as well.
The Flames need offence and that is what Kerins brings. I hope he sticks this year.

Wideman was a trade from Washington if I recall.

I believe he is talking about much earlier after all three were passed over in their drafts. The Flames brought in Giordano, Wideman and Regehr to camp as undrafted UFAs after a draft (forgot which year). They then signed Giordano and Regehr, but not Wideman.
It is funny that, years later, Flames traded for Wideman (correct - from Washington).

I'm sticking with Suniev for now, but I do find Stockselius very intriguing in the next group. Progressing as well as he has after having thyroid cancer is pretty impressive to me.
