Listened to a podcast that used the term “minor presidents” naming Jackson and Taylor. What’s a minor president? Perhaps a less noteworthy or impactful president like Lincoln or Kennedy?
"[Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez], look, I think she’s very nice, but she’s very low IQ, and we really don’t need low IQ," Trump said, smiling as cameras rolled.
He added, "Between her and Crockett, we’re going to give them both an IQ test to see who comes out best."
Trump went on to share his own credentials: "I took my test. I took a real test at Walter Reed Medical Center, and I aced it. I got every one of all those questions right," he told the waiting press.
Trump’s indifference to the printed word has been apparent for some time, the depth and implications of Trump’s strong preference for oral communication over the written word demand closer examination.
“He didn’t process information in any conventional sense,” Wolff writes. “He didn’t read. He didn’t really even skim. Some believed that for all practical purposes he was no more than semi-#literate.”
It's gonna be funny when he does fire Powell, forces interest rates to 1%, and it instantly crashes the economy. But we know Trump doesn't care, he just wants the rates lowered for personal reasons.

Trump loves minors, so he tracks in that category.

Powell is only one vote, so it likely wouldn't even change all that much in terms of setting interest rates. Also, the rate cuts don't directly change consumer/business rates, and if they are viewed as being politically motivated, they'll end up increasing rates for everyone.
Trump seems to draw the line at crashing the bond markets, which this certainly could do, so taco is probably just all talk on this one.

I think his purpose is to let all of them know that they need to do as he wants, he'll fure Powell hoping the market puts its faith in the others and doesn't freak out but also knowing all the other votes will feel the pressure to kiss the ring
On the off chance anyone cares the president can't just fire Powell. It would take some legal wrangling. He can request that Powell step down but Powell has said before he won't. His term is up in May 26 and Trump will then appoint someone who will do as they're told. That's when it's time for concerns about rates and tanking economies

Right, but it's also 5 months until the midterms at that point. In other words, Trump might more/less volatile at that point!

Or, he can fire Powell and then it goes to the Supreme Court and they do nothing and he basically gets it all tied up until his term would end anyway.
The Following User Says Thank You to Sidney Crosby's Hat For This Useful Post:
DOJ fired a federal prosecuter today, Marene Comey.
Yes, her dad is James Comey.
But she was also a prosecutor on both Epstein and Maxwell cases.
So why she got fired is open to interpretation...probably a little from column A and a little from column B.

Good. Her dad should be in jail for what he did in 2016 for helping the orange rapist win.

Trump administration taking new steps to block wind and solar projects, undisclosed memo says
Solar and wind energy projects must now get Interior Secretary Doug Burgum’s personal sign-off to receive permits across the hundreds of millions of federal acres under his department’s control, according to an internal memo obtained by POLITICO.
The Interior directive puts wind and solar projects under heightened scrutiny, potentially slowing approvals and construction across vast swaths of some of the most sun- and wind-rich portions of the country.#
