I've seen a few graphs where Demon simultaneously has the highest break and get broken percentages in the top 20. He's sort of like a Ferrer-lite gatekeeper, but will never take down big prey with that serve and midweight groundstrokes.

Yeah, he has certainly beefed up his serve and ground stokes in the last couple of years, but they still are a level below the top guys. He plays great defense and stays in points longer than most guys, but Novak is the king of outlasting guys even at this advanced stage in his career. You need to bring high powered offensive weapons to the table.

Is Fed watching the Sinner - Dimitrov match? Maybe Grigor is drawing some inspiration from Roger today?

Oh man, looks like Grigor hurt his upper chest / shoulder area. Heading off court now, it doesn't appear that he will be able to continue.
Edit: There it is, a 5th straight retirement in a major for Dimitrov.

That has to be the worst mid-match retirement in history, up two sets against the #1 player in the world. Brutal for Dimitrov, a blessing from God for Sinner.

We'll never know, but Sinner was far from his best today. Gutted for Grigor, he was playing so well.

Just brutal. You have to wonder what is up with Dmitrov....it seems like he just can't avoid injuries and bizarrely enough they are frequently of the mid match variety where he can't power through and even just manage to finish the match.
Is it preparation, nutrition, just bad luck or a combination of all 3? Hard to watch.

Brutal for Dimitrov, since Federer was there they should have just let him finish off Sinner

Thank you Aryna Sabalenka for eliminating Siegemund just now. The gamesmenship and stalling tactics she employs are just brutal.

Belinda Bencic over Mirra Andreeva in straight sets just now. What a return for Bencic after taking maternity leave and giving birth to a daughter. As for Mirra, I think it was a case of nerves getting to her on the big stage, but she's 18 years old, she'll learn from this match and be better for it.
