The Stars for the 1st in 2027 is no brainer for me.

Dumba back

Should be able to get more than the 1st with Dumba

Stars dont have the 2028 1st so they can’t protect it

They have Robertson Harley Ras Bourque all getting massive raises right before we get the 1st and Benn bonuses probably push the over cap so they will have cap penalties. I think Bichsel is an RFA too and lots of vets getting older.

Pick could be very valuable

Actions have consequences and here we are.

We got a 1st for Hanifin.

Maybe we can squeeze a 2nd as well.

It’s probably going to look a lot like the Hanifin return now. Sounds like it was almost for Hague and a pick.

I think we can get more too. But I like the chance of getting a better pick than a late 1st

Hague + 1st would of been more in line with the Markstrom deal then the Hanifin deal, which would of been fine value, albeit not super sexy.

I do wonder how much CCis set on getting a roster player back. Its been his MO to bring a serviciable player back in every deal

Honestly why not especially if it's unprotected. What are we missing out on in that case if we had not decided to trade him earlier or extended. The Rasmus Andersson's of the world don't return multiple premium assets. No matter what career stage they are in or contract status.

OR maybe they just did the rest of the league a favour and drove up Edmonton's offer to screw themselves.

Unprotected doesn't matter with Dallas, they are not falling off a cliff by 2027. That's a late 1st for Andersson with retention. Pass.

With Gully I think they are about to fall into the WC.

Though I still maintain that the Flames should have traded Andersson last season - team-friendly deal was an asset in itself, especially as cap room was at a premium - this is a seller's market right now. We have heard through the pundits how some GMs are complaining that there aren't enough players in the market. I think it works itself out, and I am glad that Conroy is showing patience right now under the pressure.

I guess Kadri was 100% fake rumors. If Kadri gets dealt, I think it will either be at the deadline, or next off-season. Full NMC right now, but he has a 13 team NTC that kicks in next season. So either the Flames are out and Kadri is tired of losing, and/or he realizes that by getting traded with a full NMC gives him the power to go exactly where he wants, rather than simply picking his 13 least desirable destinations. That thought would cross my mind.

And it was also suggested the Flames take Dumba...2027 is not enough and honestly I don't think they want something that far away

Unprotected in 2027 won't be top 10, but it may be better than expected with Gulutzan, the potential for a 'bad Robertson trade", or any overreaction by them. It feels like a team that is being very reactive more than proactive right now.

If it's Dallas let's just leave it at Robertson 1for 1 for Andersson.

Can't shake SJ off the Andersson trail tho. Just feels like such a natural trading partner in respects to each teams needs and strengths of assets.

Bad enough that the GM fired the coach. The same coach I said should have been fired earlier. But you told us Dallas was prime time just coasting along for the playoffs.

I doubt it, seems like Oiler propaganda to defend their terrible contract

an offersheet with that cap and compensation seems very unlikely

I mean I was right, they were final four out of 32 teams, they weren't a bad team. Coach was fired for a goalie pull and the comments that followed about the franchise goalie. By your logic the Canes are a bad team I guess. It is UNLIKELY a Stars 2027 pick will be in the top 15 or even 20, lets put it that way.
