anyone else going? its a decent fireworks show in blairmore (by franks slide).

this is my 2nd year in a row and it's lots of fun, if you get really drunk and smoke a lot of... which btw canadians lead the modernized world in doing (see thread from a day or two ago).

Any other CPers going??

I don't go because of piss-ants who get drunk rowdy and act in ways that doesn't make it a family event. Behaviour I see at the fireworks are not something I want to expose my son to, and why go to fireworks without my son? Unfortunately they can't afford enough police to keep the irresponsible at bay.

Liked the fireworks, hated the experience. Unless you are camping VERY close to the fireworks.

Nothing but a bunch of teens getting high and drunk, ripping it up and causing trouble. Example: When one jumped into the back of my truck, the RCMP pulled me over and threatened me with a ticket. Guy in the back wanted to fight since it was my fault he jumped in the back and I asked him to get out. As well, the insane lineup to get out of there and back home... just not worth the 3 hours.

Exact reason I quit going...even though it is pretty damn cool.

Its been getting bad in Lethbridge at the Canada Day fireworks too.

see my friend lives in blairmore so its pretty easy for us. no camping, a bed to sleep in, no lines at the bars (which suck).

i probably wouldn't go if i didn't have a pretty sweet place to stay.

Yup...I saw that too. I wouldn't mind it if the dumbass drunks kept things to themselves....but jumping into the back of trucks and harrasing people isn't exactly what I look forward too.

I've had to break up tons of fights because some drunk idiot wanted to go at it with a complete stranger.
