Good luck with that unless they find a way to move Arvidsson who I don't see having any market (plus he has a full NMC ). Like what assets do they even have left to get anyone.

None.
Last year, they got older and slower.
This year, after being absolutely manhandled by the Panthers, they get rid of their biggest, toughest forward.
It's like they are a social experiment to determine how badly can you manage a team and still being competitive because you have 2 players

It's hilarious that they spent all the Boeser money on Kane.
But the fact is that they were a pretty soft team last year, so he should help in that regard. Also, guys like him are usually on their best behaviour at first, so maybe they can suffer him until the trade deadline

Well, look at it this way. If that human piece of garbage has to go somewhere to sewer another team, might as well be Van.

They get rid of locker room cancer Miller to get locker room cancer Kane. Nice work, surely making Quinn Hughes want to stay.
EP40 lowkey praying to be traded at this point.

This was my initial thought too. Love to see it.

Vancouver has to be flipping Kane at the deadline for something more than a 4th otherwise this makes absolutely no sense. It makes little sense as a pure hockey trade.

I actually thought Arvidsson will be much easier to move than Kane was. He plays a strong two way game and his contract is only 4mil.
I'll be surprised if he's moved with retention.

Lots were saying he wasn't anything in his time in Edmonton. He sure looked good once he was in St Louis. I bet his numbers suggested the same thing as Kane's did.
Kane lost all his top ice to Hyman, he's not over paid and he isn't terrible. He was one of their better depth players and losing him for nothing isn't a straight addition to their team. They still need to find a way to use that cap for cheap replacement to improve.

I think Arvidsson has said he wants out as he would rather play then sit even if the team went to the finals.
They won't get anything for him, but I'm sure they can find a way to trade him.
But once they do, they are going to have to rely on more Perry type moves, or trade for a has been that maybe has something left in the tank. Gibson I could see as a target in net.

Can't believe the pick isn't going the other way as a sweetener to take on that player at that price tag. Mind boggling.
That's a great deal for Edmonton.

Unbelievable that the Oilers get an asset back and don't retain any salary. The rest of the league helping them keep their window open is a major piss off.

A contender would have to be nuts to add Kane as a PO guy.
