Unless Buffalo is about to turn the hockey world upside down with a string of moves, and Andersson would just be one, then I’m with you. I’d be shocked if he agreed to go to Buffalo.
They can’t seem to put it together but they have a lot of good pieces including some elite D. Could be as simple as Levi popping off this season for them to make the playoffs. Especially if they add some vets as rumoured, like Rasmus.

No confirmation on my end.
I asked if Rasmus would extend in Buffalo and was just told “his priority is a cup”
With that said, money talks.

I would be ecstatic if that Buffalo deal transpires, don't get me wrong.
Sign me up, I hope he's willing.

Would you want to go to Buffalo if you had a choice?

Sometimes the best move is the one you don't make. See James Neal.

Comparing a 25 year old Jason Robertson with a 109 point season under his belt to a 32 year James Neal coming off a 44 point season is a bit of a stretch.

Robertson is nowhere close to Neal but that 109 point season may be an outlier.

He needs to bulk up, and be more of a play driver, use his size, and outmuscle guys instead out scoring them if that makes sense.

He's a gamble, he is going to need to work on alot of aspects of his game if he is going to be successful. A project, not sure the flames should take him, they already have a project in honzek
Bukula/Constantino had McQueen 4OA in their mock draft, for what it’s worth. Believe they said were it not for injury concerns, he could have been in the conversation for 1OA.

I think it would be a good bet for the Flames. The acquisition cost also, in all likelihood, steers them a little more towards a rebuild type move (just don’t say that out loud). McQueen obviously would go back to junior and probably could use the following year as well whether that would be NCAA/Jr or AHL if eligible. In other words, the Flames can still be patient.

I like it but if there’s a way for the Flames to get into the top end of the draft I’m not sure I would take McQueen over Desyones or Frondell.

You have to consider the source of a rumor. That Buffalo deal makes zero sense, no one is willingly going to sign there if they have a choice and want to win.

That’s the issue though.

Buffalo has been so bad for so long that it seems like any vet with trade protection is likely going to block.

It’s to the point where even players they have that are under their control want out. It seems like any player who does move on is just fine in doing so.

They do have a number of good pieces but that organization is rotten to the core. Maybe Kekolinen can change that, somehow. Buffalo kinda reminds me of Chicago when Bill Wirtz was still running the team. It is going to take a massive organizational shift for things to change. They need a Teows and Kane or a change at the very top.

McQueen is 9 on Bobs board which is usually spot on Hard to see the Flames take him top 5. Maybe at 9 but it seems like he has the tools to be a winger. Another scout on Bobs ranking said Misa is a winger at the pro level.

Bill Wirtz died that’s how things changed for the better in terms of winning and fan happiness. Chicago did other things to destroy their new ownership.

Pegula is probably the worst owner in the NHL. I don’t think any vet is going there willingly. Even Tuch is starting to sound like he wants out.

I just report what I heard. Maybe Andersson and Dahlin are close, I have no idea. Maybe he thinks they are ready to turn the corner after a decade of sucking. No idea, just what a source I had reached to before about Andersson got back to me with. The first time I asked was because a poster asked if I had anything and I replied no, sorry because at that time this person had not heard anything on the Andersson front. I am not Andersson so I don't know what his mindset is behind waiving for the Sabres.

I can't see it either why anyone would want to sign with Buffalo voluntarily. Just a disastrous organization and it's been reported there are multiple players now who want out.
