A little bit of humor to lighten things up - My wife just said "Jeff Bezos is there in the stadium."
I replied, "Honey, that's Andre Agassi"

Well with Sinner we already know the answer to that, Alcaraz is just a maniac though.

Super breaker for a major. Kinda sucks to end like this, but hopefully ends up very intense and not one sided.

One-sided it is.

We've been fortunate to have watched one of the greatest matches in history. What a battle.

Alcaraz is the one true heir to the Big Three, long may he reign.

Build him a statue next to Nadal.
That's going to be a hard beat for Sinner

Yeah, that's five consecutive losses to Carlos. This one will sting for some time.

I just finished watching the final OMG I can't believe what I just watched. One of the greatest matches I've ever seen, I hope this doesn't mess up Sinner for the future because that's gotta be emotionally devastating. Carlos what can I say, he was hitting shots where id audibly gasp after each point. Some of these rallies were not from this world.
Like I said earlier Nadals 5th major was 2008 Wimbledon, Carlos 5th major was also another all time classic match. This match is probably in the top 5 finals I've seen in the past 25 years.
2022 AO
2008 Wimbledon
2019 Wimbledon (sorry)
2019 US Open
2025 French Open
Maybe 2012 and 2017 AO's and a few more could be added to the conversation
This was the match I needed to regain my fandom in tennis

So does this match we watched earlier today finally put to bed the argument that grand slams for the men need to remain best of 5?

Yes.....now the discussion of whether we should have a tie breaker at 6-6 in the 5th is a different story

I think so, you can't ask for much more from those guys.

That's just a snippet but IMO the entire interview is worth a watch. I enjoyed him talking about some of the other older guys like Wilander, Lendl, etc.

And the big four Americans. Out of him, Sampras, Chang and Courier, he was the first to turn pro but the last to win a slam. He could play as an uderdog but not as a favorite as he lost 3 slam finals to unknown guys before winning 1992 Wimbledon which no one even thought he could. Just a wild career.
