I'm curious where you're hearing this. I live in ward 7 (Capitol Hill) and I have literally never heard anyone say they liked Terry Wong. We must be living in totally different bubbles. Among people I've talked to, most lament how completely ineffectual he is. Some hate him and some have no option but most want him to start actually doing something.
Ward 7 will be a tough election for sure. I'd be surprised if the winner gets more than 35% of votes.

How does the muni party system work? Do candidates have to declare a party affiliation or run as independent?

Eh, don't really agree there, and I sure as hell am not voting for her again after I did last time.

Not for me. I dont agree with Druh on everything but she was amazing at getting stuff for the communities she represented. The city is spending money and Druh Farrell always made sure that we got a good share in ward 7 (I suspect more than a fair share). Also, she always seemed to understand the issues when I talked to her. Terry Wong isn't evil but he has no clue what people want or how to make it happen. He usually just repeats what city administration told him.

Former Calgary councillor Joe Magliocca, who was convicted of fraud for submitting 19 falsified expense claims to the city, has been handed a six-month conditional sentence order.
For the first two months, Magliocca will be under house-arrest conditions. After that, he will be bound by a curfew.

Can’t remember; other than him apparently being something of a dickhole, and having a horribly unfortunate name for rhyming slang, what’s the problem with him?

Didn’t he get into trouble for calling a female staffer “yummy”? And just being a creep in general, and a Trudeau puppet when he was an MP?

I should run for Mayor simply on the docket of:
"Fix the Roads."

Told thalidomide survivors to their faces that the challenges they faced as severely disabled adults was nothing more than a “sob story” and basically said that system would be better off with them dead. Exact quote was “‘So, you probably have about 10 years left now. That’s good news for the Canadian government.”‘
This was after he was thrown off the veterans affairs portfolio for making similarly despicable comments to them.
The dude is just a massive piece of ####, and is completely unfit for public office.

Wow. I guess I underestimated the degree to which he is, in fact, a dickhole.
Also that’s a bit rich for him to say about the system being better off without other disabled people when my understanding is he’s pretty expensive himself.

Most recently he was also the VP of the food services company here in Calgary which caused that major e-coli outbreak in daycares.
He's an awful candidate and better not win.

Add another union ready to strike, this time it’s those who maintain and respond to electrical incidents and outages.
