I don't like the Oilers either and would not be thrilled with them winning (mostly because I'm tied up in Edmonton until mid-June and don't want to deal with any craziness in the streets), but there's a very unhealthy obsession with them on these forums. Oilers are playing a really strong game right now, and neither of these teams look equipped to beat them based on how they are playing right now. Carolina and Florida look like they could though.

Personally I'm not fussed with the Oilers having a break here though, might be able to mess with their current momentum and mojo they have going.

Problem is, it gives Ekholm more time to heal.

I think the Stars finish this series in 6. Becomes more of a problem if it goes 7.

Momentum and confidence are a funny thing come playoff time - it can all change in a single game.

They will be tossed by Winnipeg here shortly. Even if they win it’s a free ride for the Oilers.

Not sure how n you can’t see how bad they are. Hardly get 25 shots a game and wide open giving up chances.

Meh I don't think that's factual.

Pacific has been the western conference representative the last 2 seasons. Pacific is weaker at the bottom but the top 6 teams (Kings, Knights, Oilers ; Avs, Stars, Jets) aren't all that different.

Last year the 8 seed Knights took the 1 seed Stars to 7 games, and
Edmonton beat Dallas in 6.

In the regular season:

Oilers: 4-5 against the top 3 Central teams
Knights: 4-5 against the top 3 Central teams
Kings: 6-3 against the top 3 central teams

Combined 14-13 record...it's not nearly as big a gap as you're making it out to be.

They haven't played great in these playoffs or to end the regular season - but have been talented enough to get through these rounds even not playing their best hockey.

They need to figure it out but the hyperbole you always post with just isn't factual. You make it sound like they are the San Jose Sharks of these past 3 seasons that magically just make it to the conference finals every year.
