yeah, if he was close, we'd be seeing him around the team, starting to skate with a yellow jersey, etc

Will be interesting to see how Byfield responds. That is such a brutal play. He could have played in so many other ways, and they likely win the game. Tough thing to get out of one's mind. That's a series changing error.

I can assume there is no penalty review because most teams don't want it.

Yesterday was a perfect candidate for a challenge. McDavid steps on Gavrikov's skate and falls. That's not a trip and should be overturned every time.

Byfield will be thinking about his failed clear all the way up to next puck drop. Unacceptable crap.

I still think LAK win the series, but even if they don't, the Oilers won't have the easy path they got last year. And they're starting from a worse position: somewhat beat up already, and older. Plus that seed of doubt that, after giving it everything they had last year, that still wasn't enough.

Drai and McJesus drank lots of baby blood during their late season convalescence. They look fresh as daisies and for the Grease Pigs that's all that matters.
Only way the Pigs don't come out of the West is if they face a team that knows how to beat them like Vegas, maybe Colorado.

People joke about LeBron taking a break midseason to take something and come back looking like he is 20.

Before we all panic here, Edmonton had already had to pull like every one one of its tricks to tie the series:
-Play McDavid and Drai together? Check
-Play McDavid and Drai more then any other forward for 20+min a night (30 yesterday)? Check
-Do the goalie switcharoo? Check
-Mount not 1 or 2, but 3 full comebacks (only won 2)? Check
This is only 4 games in. They may win this series, but with 14 wins to go I assume at least a couple of the above items turn back into a pumpkin soon. I bet Pickard goes back to being an average back up and McDavid and Drai dont show up when it counts.

Stupid Kings. Can't count on them for anything!
The playoffs have been super entertaining this and last year.... Can it please just not involve the Oilers so I can actually enjoy it??

I hate Kane but with the way he is playing there is no way he wasn't ready to play until game 2 of the playoffs. Probably was ready months ago. Stupid cap circumventing ######nozzles!
Also...let's make a quick low-ball offer for Byfield while he's in the doghouse

I'm not impressed with Hiller's usage of his forwards.
Byfield - 28:31
Danault - 27:49
Fiala - 27:13
Laferrier - 25:59
Kopitar - 25:33
Moore - 25:13
Foegele - 24:26
Kempe - 24:20
Was Kempe injured? He's their top scorer, why did he get the least amount of time of all their forwards. At least the forwards that Hiller deemed worthy of playing. I'm not counting Lewis, Malott or Helenius... why even have those three on the roster if you're not going to bother using them? Kings need some depth.

to quote Dennis Green, "The Kings are who we thought they were". Doesnt mean they wont win the series but talk about choking the last 2 games away. I hope Doughty and Kopitar can get this team right quickly.

I don't know why he's shortening the bench. LA was rolling 4 lines during the regular season even when Lewis was out.
With that said, I think this will change when they are back at home and get last change for match up purposes. Hiller just has no confidence in his depth on the road without last change.

Not true, this is Edmonton. Straight from the ICU to pre-game skate.

In a overtime game 3 players played 2 minutes for the Kings. Clarke 11 minutes. Lewis 5 minutes. If they wont play put someone else in.

You could totally tell by the look on his face when he lost the puck that he knew he messed up. Seems like he's been around for a while but he's still only 22 years old but if they lose the series he's going to think about that play all summer.

A 12 year old knows to chip that puck out
