Of course it is there top 6 and top 4 all banged up, bottom 6 and bottom pairing barely get any ice time, a lot tougher to get injured riding the bench.

The Kings need to absolutely punish them physically right from puck drop in game 1. Give these losers as many bumps and bruises as possible and they’ll fold like a cheap tent. This Oilers roster is baby-soft compared to last year’s team and they’re not built for playoffs.

Everyone knows the Oilers are a soft team, but I wanted to see how soft. It's shocking.
Most hits given by an NHL team so far this season goes to Florida with 2225. Calgary is 11th with 1749. Colorado is 23rd ranked with 1468.
Where's Edmonton? Dead last, with 1128 hits given.
That's a team built for the preseason, not the playoffs.

FYP.
After 60 minutes they're a middle of the pack team at best.

I’m going to go ahead and predict that this “being cautious” is a smokescreen. I don’t expect any oilers players to miss any playoff games.
I hope that this “restive period” backfires spectacularly.

It is not going to be good for the league if resting players for 10 games before the playoffs becomes the new meta.

I think all players have some kind of injury after 82 games. This “plausible deniability” crap where a player receives a small blow but it’s prearranged that they won’t come back and then get time off…
I believe that the oilers decided to go into the playoffs with their best players rested. We all know that they get double shifted if they are on the bench.
It’s the oilers. Cap circumventing, retiring players, signing at least 2 players with signing shenanigans. Frankly expected.

Perhaps we should show some support to our northern Albertan neighbours in their time of need. Anybody want to start a drive for walkers? Sounds like those old farts up north are in dire need of them.

They have been openly flaunting their cap circumvention. Of course the NHL won’t do anything to hurt their darlings.

These are the greasers scratches tonight; come on.
Mattias Ekholm, Jake Walman, Troy Stecher, Leon Draisaitl, Connor McDavid, Trent Frederic, Zach Hyman
Throw in Kane.
Seems incredible that all of the powers of recuperation just stopped working. Must be no individual milestones on the line.

McDavid needs 1 more point for 100. So they'll play him against the Sharks. They held him out tonight knowing with him they couldn't score anyways.

Nurse is going to get suspended. He should. Unfortunately, no Nurse is probably good for Edmonton.

What do all of those players have in common other than sitting out and being no good?
