People talk about how hot the Blues are right now. But the Flames are 6-2-1 in their last 9, with some bull####tery from the officials in the 2 losses.

Assuming flames go 2-1 and wild go 1-1, the team's play head to head with flames down by 3 points with a game in hand.

If flames then win that head to head, flames down by 1 point with 1 game in hand.

This could become really fun!

The path is there. A win against Vegas really really helps. But even if we lose, and Minny loses to Dallas in their game on Sunday, it’s still do-able as long as we win the “easy” ones against the Sharks and the Ducks on the road before the head to head

They sure do. If they go 7-0 and beat the Wild in regulation they’re in.

I'll remain reserved on our actual shot at this until the Flames overcome Vegas and Minny loses in some fashion against Dallas.

If those two things happen then this is really and truly on.

For now we're still in "you're telling me there's a chance" territory. And that's better than no chance.

Flames beat Wild on Friday and win 2 more games then Wild and were in, right?

Love it when a plan comes together.

Beat Vegas and it’s going to start getting hot in Minnesota’s kitchen. All the pressure will be on them.

Yeah, Flames are 5 back...a regulation win in the head to head and winning the 2 in hand put the Flames a point up

Minny plays Dallas, who are probably the second hottest team right now.

We actually control our own destiny again. Win out, provided Minny is regulation, and we’re in.

I think minny beats the Sharks, Ducks and Canucks, and lose to Dallas and Calgary.

That's 95, which the Flames will have to surpass due to lack of tiebreakers.

I had the canucks beating them.

Rest easy. Flames will make it by a point.

I just noticed no team has fewer home losses this season than the Kings -- 4 in regulation and 4 in extra time. What a fun way to end the season.

If the Kings fate is sealed for that last game, that might be of benefit. No doubt the Kings will want home ice. So them winning a few here and the Oilers losing some would be just great. Also would help if Vegas only loses their games to the Flames so the Kings are at least 3 points back of them for that game.

Entirely possible.

I just put zero faith into an eliminated Canucks team steeped in self pity showing character.

Those are real losers over there.

Yeah I'm starting to cheer for separation at the top of the division. I don't care if it's the oilers in the drivers seat, just make that last game meaningless.

I see the path:

- win the H2H against MIN in regulation; and
- win two games in hand (let's call them 2x SJS); and
- have a equal or better record than MIN in the remaining games (for us, 2x VGK, ANA and LAK; for them, DAL, ANA, SJS, VAN)

Have to take 1 of 2 against Vegas. That will be a must.

Please make it tomorrow.
