I don't think travel is as much an issue as some make it out to be. As long as there's travel between the cities no more than twice during the series.
Until the Flames miss one year. Just keep it simple, add another playoff spot if you want more playoff games

But then you really need a balanced schedule

If a team has more points playing in a weaker conference do they really deserve a cross over ?

Exactly. The west has the three worst teams in the league that could add up to few games for every western team this year.

We have had proposals of point changes because it’s unfair Minnesota had a hot start amd now they don’t have to win out to make the playoffs. Now let’s change the format to cross teams over because the flames aren’t good enough to make it in the west.

This some Vince McMahon #### right here.

Flames should have just won the three games against Utah

16 of 21 used to make it and now 16 of 32

Im fine with the Flames situation because they are playing meaningful games...it is getting a little basebally though with so many teams out early.

10th place team going on a franchise record win streak is just bad luck

Wonder how many fans of teams ahead of the Flames cried and proposed rule changes when they went on a franchise best 10 game win streak in 16/17 to go from 29-26-4 to a playoff spot. 12-1

Elliott looked like a god in those 10 games, and then turned god awful in the playoffs. I think Flames fans were crying too.

What rules changes did I propose? All I said is that its bad luck because it is.

Seeing him get the start in game 4 still brings back tears.

3-2-1 point format and one crossover team are not crazy ideas.

Guys don't look now, but if Minnesota loses tonight we are all of a sudden 5 points out with 2 games in hand and a head to head. We can make it. I believe.

Crossover team doesn’t really make sense in a league with even teams. Just expand the playoffs by two teams a conference and keep it simple.

The east's average points % is .552 and the west's is .550. Not enough of a difference to really matter, IMO.

Average goal differentials are exactly 0 for both conferences prior to today's games (by sheer coincidence). So the idea that the west is a weaker conference is pretty much a myth.

Since I never win any money sports betting I put $25 on the Wild tonight. Seems like I might have to keep it going.

5 back with 2 in hand and a head to head. Doable, but still an uphill climb.

The thing is if they win the head to head, the ball is on the flames court. So as of now I’d argue the flames hold their own fate on their hands

A tough one tomorrow vs a Knights team that wants to stop their 2 game skid. If the Flames can win that one, things start looking a lot better. Lose it and the odds get long once again.

Blues can lose a game or 5 now too...they are fluking out some wins at the end of a streak
