				 I got jumped

so last night at about 3am me, my cousin and his friend got off at the fish creek ctrain stop and proceeded to make our way towards a denny's/humpty's. i live in the north so i am not familiar with this part of town.
as we head off the ramp towards fish creek park 6 guys jump the 3 of us and kicked the crap out of me. 6 stitches in my nose, two black eyes some cuts and scrapes.

waited at the hospital until 8 am to get my stitches but when i finally got helped the doctor and nurse were quite nice.

so not only do i not know who did this but im told ill get a $200 or so bill for the ambulance ride that the cop called for me because my face looked like raw hamburger.

worst part is we didn't even get any good shots in because it happened so fast we just took off and called the cops instead of risk getting stabbed by a bunch of damn clowns.

if only i knew who it was my 3 wood might have an appointment with the ankles of the guy who jumped me.

I can't believe this happened. ive always told everyone how calgary is the greatest because i don't have to walk around and be looking over my shoulder.(unless im in ogden) im feeling a little jaded now. and i really want revenge. that and my damn face is gonna look like crap for the rest of stampede. oh well chicks dig scars right?

what a way to kick off another year of stampede!!

I wonder if Calgary transit might have surveillance footage. Did the police seem like they would be following up on this. Hooliganism is stupid and I hope the pack of rabid dogs gets caught. Get better quick, flip.

Hope you're doing okay. Don't you have any coverage for the ambulance ride?

Wow...last night I thought to myself "No big deal, walking home from the train station at 3:00 am. Besides, this is the south, there are no hooligans down here."
But, to be safe...I had my key between my knuckles. I guess it does happen, and it isn't just paranoia.

Hope you are okay, and that these punks get tracked down.

im 22. they seemed to know the guy my cousin is friends with so we're gonna see if we can get the kids names and get the police involved. and yeah i should have coverage on the ambulance ride. they were probably about 18-20 years old. luckily they didn't rob me. unfortunately i was too drunk to put up a good fight and i got blindsided.

the cops didnt' seem to take it seriously at all. they just thought it was another drunken fight. the ems guys were jerks too. they all thought we were just a bunch of drunken idiots getting into trouble. i can't say i blame them all that much because from what the doctor told me they get like 20 drunk people a night or more comming in to get fixed up for doing stupid stuff like falling over and getting hurt.

It doesn't cover ambulances. You need additional health coverage to pay for that.

I live not too far from the Fish Creek station, and I gotta say, I'm a bit shocked by this. A while ago, some dudes beat up an off-duty Police officer down here, too.
Otherwise, I've felt nothing but comfortable travelling along the streets late at night, here.

Sorry to hear that you got beat up. Unfortunately, more and more of those shady, violent types are becoming more predominant down here.

Sorry to hear about that flip...
If they ever catch those guys, you could sue them for the ambulance ride as well as other damages that you have faced. It may not be worth your while but there is at least some recourse...

Sorry to hear that Flip. Hope you're feeling better today
What happened to you doesn't surprise me in the least. I used to live in the Fish Creek area. Far too many teens and young adults roaming the streets late at night causing problems and property damage. And it's one reason why I moved to a small town. Unfortunately this town is growing by leaps and bounds and with it has come the same crap I left Calgary for.

Hope you find the guys and have them arrested.

Sorry to hear about this. I've never been jumped before but i've seen people get jumped (both in Edmonton and Calgary) about 2 to 3 times each. I can't stand violent people especially those that attack strangers. Gang on gang type violence is bad enough but atleast there is some motive with that (still bad of course). Anyways, I hope they get caught. They deserve to be charged for that.
Things like this make me wonder that anything can happen anywhere. No one is really safe. Kind of scary when you think about it.

One of my friends who is a girl got attacked on the waiting area underground of the lrt....2 men pushed her down and starting punching her in the face. One tore off her blouse and the other was going for her pants but luckily she carries pepper spray with her and sprayed them in the eyes and ran away. (this was in Edmonton)

Another time in Calgary, two guys were just beating the crap out of this woman big time and I saw this unfold about half a block away so I ran over and they ran off. She said she didn't know them.

Crazy world out there, so many good people but at the same time so many bad people which is unfortunate.

As someone mentioned, see if the cops or transit can get surveilance video.
This wasnt on Calgary CityBeat or any news stories. Im sure everyone wants to keep stuff like this quiet since its not good during Stampede to frighten off the tourists. But you could always contact the media yourself if you wanted this out there and maybe the cops would take it more seriously if the media was looking into it.

Was there anything else to this? Was there anywords exchanged before? Or even after the jumping? Were they maybe after the friend in the group?

I hope it doesnt offend anyone, but were there any ethnic minorities involved in either the victims or perpetrators?
